Another alternative to using F Drive is to make your bios (custom of course) boot to another dashname like C:bootdash.xbe and just rename evoxdash.xbe to bootdash.xbe. BTW, I know that is a little advanced but something you may be able to learn reading the
Tutorials on this site.
Anyways, with the task at hand, you need to make a boot disk on a CD-RW or DVD format as it will NOT work on a CD-R disk. Has anybody ever made a Live! Recovery CD? That would be nice for n00bs and could be a small download. All it would need to have is copies of evox, avalaunch, or any other dash that could be copied back to the drive in case of the xboxdash.xbe or other boot xbe was replaced by live!.
Example Menu:
Choose Dash
-Evox
-Avalaunch
-UnleashX
Then subchoices:
--Install EvoX to C:xboxdash.xbe
--Install EvoX to C:evoxdash.xbe
--Install EvoX to F:evoxdash.xbe
--Repair EvoX to C:xboxdash.xbe <-- renames xboxdash.xbe to msxboxdash.xbe and copies in evox to xboxdash.xbe
--Repair EvoX to C:evoxdash.xbe <-- copies evox to C:evoxdash.xbe and leaves alone the evox.ini
anyways you all get the idea. this is just a loose thought but would be more involved! Of course most of the above is considering which bios/modchip you have. Like how the old X1's always boot to xboxdash.xbe and that's it!
