nuzzy -  it's your default gateway...make sure your pc has 192.168.0.1 as your default gateway and make your IP address is 192.168.0.3


i will try that thank u but if my pc is 192.168.0.3 and my xbox is 192.168.0.2

what is 192.168.0.1  ?   the cable

192.168.0.1 is the default gateway.  It's in your TCP/IP properties.  It's what allows the connection to route through.

but it isn't his gateway.  He doesn't need a gateway.  I already said all the settings you had are correct.  something else is wrong.  let me know when you tried pinging the other things i asked, like 127.0.0.1

sure it is...his settings were wrong...you need a default gateway and he didn't have one listed in his pc properties...
