2day i pinged my pc it worked

i pinged the xbox and i get reguest timed out 4 times

and i got a new crossover cable from staples and still a no go

i reformated my pc hard drive and installed win xp pro and flashftp it still does not work

mrRobinson - Can you ping localhost or 127.0.0.1?
wireless g = whats 127.0.0.1? on my pc , i will do it 2morrw , i forgot about that 2day

nuzzy - you need a default gateway
wireless g = i tryed

on xbox
192.168.0.2
255.255.255.0
192.168.0.1

on pc
192.168.0.3
255.255.255.0
192.168.0.1

and

on xbox
192.168.0.2
255.255.255.0
no gateway

on pc
192.168.0.1
255.255.255.0
no gateway

still can't ftp

pondhopper - Make sure the computer is set up first (set your IP address (198.168.0.2 is mine) under network properties for your NIC card)

wireless g =o.k.

pondhopper - The actual IP address DOES NOT MATTER, all you have to do is make sure when trying to FTP to it that you match with the IP number you assigned to it in your evox.bin

wireless g = this part i don't get - can u explain what u mean by that

In my case, I'm using a crosscable to direct connect with no firewall in between. I'm not able to even ping the box from my laptop. In fact, I can't even save the IP address I changed in the xbox, there seems to be no option for me to save as i mentioned in my thread.

Perhaps its because I'm booting from the CD???

Confused...

looks like you have 1 too many IP lines in you evox.ini file.  get rid of one.  and i don't see the DHCP line anywhere so you're going to have to add it.

DHCP = YES

No, the static ip = no is what sets dhcp.  and that is correct already.  yet for some reason you aren't getting an ip from your router.  did you boot your xbox with it cabled up properly to your router? are you booting it off cd or hdd?

All your settings from your webpage are perfect.  So don't change them, something else is wrong.  can you ping 192.168.0.2?  Do you have any firewall program running or turned on? Can you ping localhost or 127.0.0.1?

it's your default gateway...make sure your pc has 192.168.0.1 as your default gateway and make your IP address is 192.168.0.3
