im having the same problem, the nic keeps saying theres nothing there and the box is on the 'no link' (static ip on all the ip stuff done as described in tut) do i have to install evo-x again seperately?

do you get a link light on your PC's NIC when you plug in the crossover cable while the xbox is on? if not, you might have a bad cable. read my sig for info on addressing. make sure it's actually a crossover cable and not a patch cable. colors of wires for pins 1 and 2 should be switched with pins 3 and 6 at the other end of the cable

try reading my guide. Also, so that everyone can help you better you should post the network section of your evox.ini and also the results of an ipconfig /all from your computer. Then the problem usually becomes apparent.

I had successfully ftp'd my xbox off an evox boot disk before I used slayers to install everything on it. I found that when I tried to boot from slayers and ftp from there that it wouldn't connect. I un-iso'd the slayers image and retrieved the ini file. The IP settings in there didn't turn out to work for me.

Fixed the IP to: 192.168.0.3
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: erased
both dns:0.0.0.0

Then re-iso'd using simplex and nero to burn

Perhaps your settings are wrong in the ini.

The same thing is happening to me right now. I had it before because my friend set a network in my network places for it. No idea what eh did or what he set up. All I know is that it was a seperate network......sorry this prolly doesn't help anybody.

which evox are you running cause there is a well known ftp bug with a certain version of evox. Get the newest evox as that issue has been fixed

Post an ipconfig /all from your computer and can you ping 127.0.0.1 and localhost?

I'm having a problem with the Slayers disk too.
I don't see how the evox.ini could work that's included.
It is set to static ip=no.
Unless you have a dhcp server it will never get an ip address.
Is there anyway to change it within the dashboard?

it doesn't think you have the cable plugged in. make sure both your computer and xbox are on, the xbox is booted with a video cable in the back of it and also loaded up to a dashboard. Also verify your cable is in fact a crossover yet again. Or go buy one that says crossover right on the box...
