X-disk 0.93 - The Next Snapshot
« Reply #15 on: January 05, 2004, 08:29:00 PM »

I cant find a working file of this anywhere.  Ive tried the source on the website and got a exe that does nothing.  I tried a source from a guy on #x-disk and got an rar file that wouldnt open because it was damaged.  Ive tried downloading them both multiple times so I know ive gotten the whole file complete. Can somebody help me obtain a working file of this masterpiece. Thank you.

heres how I did mine.

1. download a bit torrent client and install it.
burst is the one I like http://krypt.dyndns.org:81/torrent/ or try others from http://www.geocities...rent_Client.htm

2. Restart you IE and go to the X-disk home page http://x-village.de/x-disk/

3. click on 'Here is the Torrent for X-DISK 0.93' link, this should automatically start up burst/bit torrent client and prompt you on where to save it.

4. once transfer is done (be carefull, some bit torrent clients allocate the correct file size at the start of the download, so ensure that it's 100% complete (burst! doesn't do this)) it's a good idea to leave the bit torrent client open for the same time it took you to download to give others a chance to download X-disk from you. <- Give and Take!.

5. double click the downloaded file and extract the .NRG file from it, open up NERO, if you haven't got it, www.nero.com to download the demo version (if the site is in German, click on the international link on the top right of the page)

6. Select CDROM from the type of burn, in nero 6, select Recorder, Burn Image, browse to you xdisk.nrg and click ok. (on older versions of Nero, I think the burn image option is under the file menu)

once burnt, you should  have a X-disk 0.93 CDRW disc in your hands, what the hell are you waiting for ?

any problems with this process, feel free to post or personal message me, I'll try to help where I can.

Even tho xdisk will install everything on f, and i will only have about 1.7 gig left.  Cant I copy games, music, movies, roms etc to the other drives, and still use the apps on f to access them?

I agree with Sniperkilla, an E drive install option would be most welcome. I've installed on a 10g with great sucess. having an 8gb option would be nice. I have xbox's with both and using phoenix so I dont have to open them. I like your installer better than slayer but cant use it with my 8gb box's.

Thanks Firefucker, Awesome installer.

it took 5 days to download on dial-up (only a 5 hour limit and i went away). But it was well worth it.

was having issue ftp-ing to mt box on evox 3921. I have not tested to see that it's fixed.

you have gone to alot of effort and it's appreciated.

Thank god, i alomost accidentally installed it in german, he he.

Maybe I'll add an option for Install all&everything to copy the stuff to E: in the next release.
I'll see...
But are there really so many 8gb- Boxes out there?
