Hi,

I've disabled all 3 of Evox's IGR and am using my BIOS' X2 4976's IGR.  But every time I use the IGR from within a game, it reboots the game rather then going to the Evox Dash.

It doesn't matter which game DVD I inserted, same result.  Not that it matters but autolaunch is disabled.  The only time I can get IGR to go back to Evox is when I started an app from the HD.

Is that a limitation of the IGR?  Only works when app or games is launched from HD?

Totally confused!!!!

Use xbtool and delete the d:\default.xbe entry.

My conclusion is, that was the right answer.

In Game Reset resets the machine. If you reset the machine it reboots and does a lot of the things a booting Xbox does, including looking for a game in th DVD drive. If you change the name of the XBE the kernel looks for in the DVD drive, your machine will boot to the dashboard instead. You setup an Evox menu item for launching DVDs. Problem solved...

Unless you expected the Xbox to magically know when you want to boot a game in the DVD drive and when you want to go directly to the dash. I suppose you could fix up a kernel to only look for a game in the drive on cold boot, but none currently do that.

OK, I stand corrected.  Appologies to chelrob.

My understanding was that the bios will boot (in order)
1. c:evoxdash.xbe
2. c:neXgen.xbe
3. c:xboxdash.xbe

and THEN d:default.xbe.

(standard config and that's how I kept it).

Since I have 1, 2 and 3, should the xbox not go them them first?

it could be different for your evox.ini, check the .ini file, i THINK it has the option to change the button assignment for IGR in there

It always tries to boot what's in th DVD drive first.

I don't think an unaltered copy of the X2 4979.67 BIOS had this problem.  It wasn't until I modified it with xbtool to change the color that I noticed it.  Deleting d:\default.xbe fixed it though.

If I need to boot from a DVD I just switch to a copy of the BIOS with d:\default.xbe left intact, on another BIOS bank.  Love my XBIT!
