With the ethernet port being 10/100, it'd be 12.5MB/s max...BEFORE overhead created by TCP/IP. Unless the device was USB 2.0 then it'd be a waste (USB1.1 maxes out at 1.25MB/s), AND the huge difference between USB2.0's max speed (~60MB/s) vs. the previously mentioned max speed of the 10/100 ethernet port (before overhead) would kind of make it pointless going that direction.

One more thing people don't take into consideration is that IEEE1394 is a better port/bus to use since it uses sustained speeds vs. USB's bursting.

This topic needs to be put to rest.  I've seen so many threads on this.  No one wants to accept the fact that it's a shitty solution and then they won't spend their own time and money testing what they believe is worthwhile yet they expect someone else to do it.

I was reading earlier on in the thread that you coudn't record video because the controller port was only USB 1. If companies have mad Xbox controller port -> USB then surley someone could replace a controller port with a USB 2 port.

I'm almost certain you cant.  The xbox wasn't designed with a video input, just like most PC video cards aren't.  You can't just tell the system to do it.  Since they'd never want you to do this, i'm sure you cant, just like you cant burn DVDs to the xbox, since it doesn't have a dvdr or cdr even though so many people for some reason think you should be able to do that.

oh and btw:  you also cant emulate the ps2 or cube on an xbox.

Hi

I have been Thinking about this for a while but never ASKED.

One night after a few drinks i noticed that on the back of the xbox i saw it had AV input/ Output where you plug in the AV pack.

Have a look and see what you think.

I've seen the term "video in" mentioned 3 times in this forum, but never discussed, when someone is referring to this do you mean so you can watch//record a video signal through your xbox?

I know it'll never be done though the video connector, so is this trying o be accolplished though usb?

Dear God no.

Unless you quote the messages I'm assuming they mean video in to their TV or amp and out from the XBOX.
