I have the exact same problem. In my C: drive, in the evocx it says
MSDashBoard   = "c:msxboxdash.xbe"

However, In my C: drive there is no msxboxdash.xbe. These are the files in my C drive:
Boot.cfg
default.xbe
evocx.ini
evox.ini
evoxdash.xbe
introflag.lock
items.txt
pheonix.raw
settings3.xip
xbox book.xtf
xbox.xtf
xboxdash.xbe
xboxrom

Now, I was thinking that i need to rename xboxdash.xbe to msxboxdash.xbe, but I really want to make a mistake fatal to my xbox. Is that the right file to rename? Anything else I need to do?

Thanks a bunch

Rather than rename the file, change the setting in your evox.ini to read:
MSDashBoard = "c:\xboxdash.xbe"

I did it, and now I get the flashing red/green "call M$" error. What do I do? Do I have to install Evox again? Cuz I never installed it, I had it modded for me. Everything on my E: and F: drives stay right? Any way for me to fix it w/o re-installing evox, cuz im not too sure how to go about doing it

easy fix guys.  All it takes is to read, and use the search.  In fact this answer is in the pinned tutorials.  Look for something like - link msdashboard using font exploit

Your evox.ini needs to point to the proper msdashboard.  If this is the case, you will get an error if you are using FONT exploit - not audio. The steps only need to be done using the font exploit

Error occurs because you dicked with the font files, and msdashboard hates them.  Use a hex editor and change the names of the font files in your xboxdash.xbe or whatever file your dashboard is called.

Resign your modfied xbe file with habibi - rename it - done

read read read search search

no u shoudn't. but im thinking ur files that the msxboxdash.xbe is looking for are being used by another xbe.  I had xboxdash_old.xbe and when i got live on the box, the files were no longer good for that xbe. i had a new one called xboxdash.xbe and changed the ini file to that and it worked fine.
