1080i From Dvdx2
« on: June 10, 2004, 03:12:00 AM »

My current setup includes a modded xbox connected to an X1 PJ with HD AV pack.

I want to play original DVDs or my backups from HDD in 1080i or 720p resolution. Now I can watch them 480p but don't know how to do it in 1080 or 720.

In MSdashboard setttings all 1080,720 and 480 are enabled. And I tried to play the DVD in MSDash and DVDx2.

I can see if the signal is 480 or different via PJ's onscreen information.
Hope it's the right place to ask.

Any idea?

You want 720p more than anything else.

Use XBMC which supports this mode.

Remember in all cases the source material is in 480p/i so XBMC is upscaling it in software.

With interpolation turned on it looks a tad better, but this will not be a dramatic improvement.

Yes, I tried it with XBMC. Actually, at first I played with the settings in MSDash, I disabled 480p and 720p. I did it since I thought it'll be 1080i but NO! I ended up with "error 21"

Anyway, I solved that problem and tried XBMC. I change it to both 720p and 1080i in XBMC but  I watched a DVD only in 720p. It was a bit darker than 480p. Maybe because I use a PJ. I'll try to find out the reason. After setting everything I'm gonna post (or gve the links) of pictures in different resolutions.

But thanks for Your help.
