Stop Auto Launch?

you looked in evox.ini?  if you did, look some more cause it's there...within the first 5 lines.  if you have it set correctly there, my guess would be that your bios is old and out-dated...get a newer release.

You need a different BIOS mate.

It's your BIOS that is automatically loading from the DVD-Drive on startup.

What's a good bios to use then?  I've got an Xecuter 2.2 lite.  Maybe an Evox bios?  What's a good one?

Thanks for the help.

I dont know of any bios that doesnt look at the dvd drive first, and I dont know of anyway to change it not to do so.  I can tell you that it is not a function of evox, at all.  That is done before evox is loaded.

actually, it was 4974 that i had before 4977.  EvoxD6 and 4974 were 2 bios that you could use XBTool to cut off the DVD drive check.

bios comparison/feature list:

EDIT:
hmm...just looked at chart again, and we're supposed to be able to do the same thing with 4977, yet the option is grayed out in XBTool when i open up the bios...

"DVD Drive Check" means it checks to be sure the dvd drive is physically there, which is not what you want.

man, what was i thinking...maybe it was the eject fix or something that i can't remember.  i've been up all night.  sorry heinrich.

it kinda makes sense that there are no bios that don't look at the DVD first.  if they didn't look at the DVD drive first for boot, it would be kind of a hassle if you flashed your bios before installing a new dash or anything.  i know you could get back in with a gamesave hack, but those were a relatively recent development.  what would one have done in that situation before gamesaves and font exploits?

ok guys, auto load games simply means that when you put in the game after evox loads, then it will not load it automatically. but all cracked bios's are designed to auto load any disk in there with a default.xbe in the root before it loads the dashboard. this is a security thing. if you have a dashboard that doesnt work, what do you do then?! you simply could not install evox if this was turned off. i dont even think there is a way to turn it off without a hex editor or whatever. anyways, theres your answer.

ya, that was just established, but thanks for backing us up wink.gif
