NEW! SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer V2.5
« Reply #765 on: November 21, 2003, 03:51:00 AM »

First I would like to say thanks for this great piece of work. Keep it up. I have a fairly simple question. All the files of my current xbmp 2.4 or lovated on the E drive. Since there is no option in your installer to update xbmp  on the E drive, is there a way to change this. Or can I install the new build + apps on f drice and remove the files on my E drive and edit this in the evox. ini? thx

IRC channel works just fine!

Read the first page/post on this thread carefully.  You're probably trying the wrong server laugh.gif  Make sure the server sais:  burghcom.com

Also, if the !nfo or !installer commands do not seem to work you need to fix your mIRC settings to allow EXE files.  Just issue the command !help and follow the instructions.

If !help returns nothing, YOU'RE IN THE WRONG SERVER!

hello,

It's been about a year since I was active in this forum and decide to see what's new.  AND found

NEW! SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer v2.5

I have been running 2.1 with extreme success.  But I decided to try the new version 2.5 and ran into some questions.

After installing the 2.5 ISO and FTP all my games back to the xbox.

Some games play back fine and some get stuck at loading and some fade back to the previous menu.

I have played with the .ini, I changed the IGR, (all three) to No, but still the same results.  Then I flashed to latest bios and tops from the ISO install.

What am I missing.

Here's my problem.  I have downloaded slayers 2.5 and got all the files that came with it.  My computer windows 98 won't support adobe 6.0 and I can't decrypt the instructions.  Any suggestions.  Is there maybe another place I can search for to read the instructions?

I have a question.

I don't have the FAQ with me but can the 2.5 be used to install hard drive bigger then 137GB, such as a 250GB hard drive within the program itself or do I need separate patching for that to work? Thanks.

Just got one question, I've installed Slayers Evo-x and its all working fantastic apart from one thing - the date and time are incorrect.

I can go the ms dasboard but when I try to go into the settings for date and time the system just freezes and I have to reboot and as far as I know thats the only place to change the date and time? Is it possible to just reinstall that part of the dasboard by ftping the correct files across to the xbox?

You could have a corrupt install due to media read problems.

To fix a bad click try going under "System Tools"  "Apps on HD" and launch the "XBWatch" tool which will sync your clock.

Alternatively, EvoX can Sync your clock automatically, but you must be connected to the internet.

Yo Slayer, great release i used it to flash and format the Xbox G drive to take full advantage of my WD 160GB drive biggrin.gif

Even tough it's pretty self explanatory i would like to read the manuals you shipped with it, but my Acrobat 5.0 can't decode the document "The program cannot decode this document" any clues?

Cheers!

LOL, if you read my initial post carefully you'd see it says to open the docs with PDF 6.0

Since the installer use the LATEST tools and progs, it kinda makes sense to use the latest of everything, well at least to me it does laugh.gif

I used Slayers 2.1 and had no problems (totally awesome program!) and now I got a 320GB drive, flashed my X2pro with X2-4979.06 via LPT1 cable and set up the new drive with Slayers 2.5.  I'm sure it's just something I'm missing, although I've read the docs several times, but with the new setup, the ftp with my PC messes up.  It says connected and I see the folders, but trying to open them I get "failed operation" messages and hangs.  If I put everything back to 4977 & v2.1 it works again.  I was using ws_ftp on my pc, it's always worked fine before.  I used the slayers option for putting the dash on C: and the apps on F:.

Also, I can't boot into MS dask (chip off) because I can't seem to lock the drive.  The "lock drive" tool in slayers 2.5 is cool but.... maybe my 320GB isn't lockable?  How does one tell?

Anyone could help I would greatly appreciate your suggestions.

Slayer's 2.5 installs EvolutionX 1.8.3921, which has bugs in the FTP server.  Some clients (such as FlashFXP apparently) can handle it, but many well-established ones play up.  I've switched back to 1.8.3752, I won't be upgrading until the FTP bugs are fixed.

Thanks SlaYer for all your hard work, for newbies like me you are a big help.

I have a basic question about support for the G: drive. If I back up games on the G: drive is EvoX configured to automatically recognize them? Also are all the other apps included in you installer able to recognize the G: drive? The reason I ask is support for the G: drive seems to be relatively new and I did not want to go buy a huge drive and not have it work. This is assuming of course that I am using you X2 4977 FC bios and I have a drive larger than 137 GB.

From the app list.... and if it supports G
* EvoX Dash v1.8.3921 - yes
* XBMP v2.4 CVS 09-24-03 (the 2.4 CVS 10-13-03 release was full of bugs so I ignored it) - should, if not, upgrade
* HDDLoader v1.2a - no
* dvd2xbox v0.4.9 - get 0.5.0 or up, .0.4.9 has a problem with the G drive
* boXplorer 0.96 G: Patched - patch from Xeero
* BiosChecker v3.1 - no, doesnt need it
* xbftp v0.61 - no, use avalaunch for xbox <-> xbox FTP
* XCommander R2 G: Patched - patch from me
* Avalaunch 0.48 (can auto-download the Qwix PC ISO Manager) - yes (includes filemanager & ftp client)
* Xboxdash dvd region free patch disc v1.03 - no, doesnt need it

Also I would like to know if I have to install Evox on the F drive, 3.2 option, in order to use Xbox Live or if I can just put it on the C: drive, option 3.1, which seems to be the norm.

Right now, LIVE does not scan any files, so it is safe to use the C drive.  Such might not always be the case however.
EDIT: dont know why you posted here AND created a new thread, removed the other though..
