went to slayers irc channel and did find anything. Type command !list and plenty more. NOTHING!

Did you press ENTER after typing the command? That is probably the one biggest thing people forget to do. You havo to press ENTER!!!

If you read the OnJoin....you would have noticed the command "!help". This command was specially developed for people like you. As you can see its not "Fool-Proof" as you would need to read it, type it and hit enter and then read some more.

Not being able to follow simple steps like this is what makes me belive that your quest to Mod your Xbox will come up short.

Slayer I was wondering when your going to update the slayer with the new evox and new dvd2xbox and hdddloader, cause alot of the new games arnt working, ex PGR2 and NFSU

Media patches have not changed for either of those 2 games, so new version of either of those programs will not help you, your problem lies elsewhere (suitable for another thread). Also, you don't have to wait for a new version of slayers to be released to use the latest software. For the 2 apps that you mentioned, you can just replace the folders that contain those apps with the newest versions. You can do this on the xbox after using the installer, or replace the apps in the .iso.

Yes, you should add that everyone verify their own copies and destroy any copies that do not match your CRC checksums....

OK... Maybe this has been answered before on this 49 page thread, but I want to know whats the difference between using SlaYers 2.5, and using the ISO that i got off of xbins w/ a dummy file. I know SlaYers has a lot of apps but im not really sure what they do. By the way, i ordered an X-B.I.T. if it matters.

Slayers is a compilation of the most commonly used apps, into an automated installer package. All of those apps are available on XBINS, but Slayer's serves as a valuable time-saving utility.

I am having trouble with 2 proggies though.
On one box, XBMP will not save cd music. It tries but errors. Led on front is orange which I think might be normal.
The other box does not like DVD2Xbox, I have to use HDDloader. DVD2Xbox crashes when choosing to back up any kind of media. It seems as though the HD reader works on it though.

Your best bet is to go to xbins and get the newest apps that are buggin' out on you and then upgrade them via FTP to your Xbox. Make sure you do save your config files if you have specail configurations set up as you can use them on the newer versions...

Can anyone tell me wich HDD is lockable under Slayer installer? I have two Xbox'es with a WD 120JB drive inside each; and they don't support locking... I would like to purchase new lockable drives. Thanks.

Whether or not its lockable has nothing to do with Slayer's. Here is a good lockability list if you are looking to buy a new hdd:

This may be a dumb question... but.. how come Slayers creates a G drive on new installs for large drives? Why not just one big F?

The setup for F&G partitions or big F partions depends on the bios you are running. ex: 4980.06 is big F, 4980.67 is F&G. At the time of the SlaYer's installer release the big F option was still in testing so only the option for F&G was released in the official installer. Now that big F is proved to be stable you could flash your chip with that bios (X2 4980.06 for instance) and then format a new HDD with Slayers if you wanted and it would format big F just fine...

Oh ok that makes sense.. yeah i knew that about the bios, I thought it was something written into the code.
