the other day when trying out a dvd-rw, i manged to lock up the machine and when i got it restarted, the menu went back to the default one. I had a backup on my pc so i just transfered the ini file across. Then yesterday, a friends xbox did the same thing, but he claims that he turned it after a couple of days without touching it, and it came up with the default menu too.
what causes this? is there anway to change what the it defaults to? As far as i can tell the only 2 ways to fix it are to use a custom cd with an auto install scripty for evox to replace the ini file, or to ftp it back. I thought maybe i could leave a backup file to rename but there was no way to access boxplorer or any filemanger app.
it's not a big hassle for me, but I do mod alot of xbox's and not everyone understands how to replace the ini file.
