If your unsure on how to get it on there then you might want to look at a auto installer like Slayers, Xavier Multi-Dash, X-Disk

I think the best way to get slayers is through IRC.  Check out this site: http://xboxuk0.tripod.com/irc.htm They've got some good info on how to get hooked up to IRC and how to find slayers.  My problem is the one Senj2b brought up.  I've flashed the bios on my v 1.0 xbox, but ow I can't get evox installed.  The xbox claims it can't read the discs.  I've tried tdks (which I successfully used to flash the bios) and memorex cd-rws.  I've extracted the slayers auto-installer and tried burning using nero, unclicking joliet, selecting disc-at-once, no multi-session.  What's my problem?

Well to check if the problem is with your media you could just burn a music cd(copy an original)  then pop it in the box with the chip turned off.  If it boots, your media is good.
Start there.

I did have the same problem too with the slayer my xbox did not recognize it.  If you downloaded as an iso already. You must redo the  iso formatt because the way they did it won't work. I have to extract everything from it and redo the iso again with xiso.  I prepared two CdRW i use memorex 4x  The auto installer slayer cd did not work and the the second one which i put together without any dummy files. I created the second Cd with all the apps i was going to need  like xbmp, yamp, xmame, xkawak, xalpha, hddloader, xcommander, and more and i use Xiso to turn it  into iso and it work perfectly with the xbox.  So whenever you download something in iso format you must extract it and redo the iso again so that it will work and try to burn it at a slow speed so that it will work perfectly because i try 4x xbox did not recognize and then i burn at 2x it did recognize only that is to slow and it took 40 minutes to burn because  i have a total of 700Mb of apps on it.

Yes it has 700MB of files on it because i burn some roms with it which are kind of big files like 34MB each. Which made my CD reach 700MB. This  to extact you can use XISO to extract everything from the iso and redo it again with Xiso and burn it and now it should work. smile.gif

Before you make an ISO out of EVOX you have to rename evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe or else the CDRW won't boot.

Depends on the kind of chip you have because now the new chips they search for the evoxdash.xbe and xboxdash.xbe. so you don't need to change the name. It is based on what kind of chip you have. If you have the new generation of chip you won't get that problem.  But you can try as they said by trying different you gain more experience and knowledge on thinks. and good luck.

If you have the slayer ISO just burn it with nero.  You don't need to extraxt it.  Files will be named right.

I have the same problem. I flashed my bios just fine with the same brand/type of media, but I tried to burn an evox boot disc and the CD just doesn't read ( changed the ini to default.xbe also). I've used different brands and I've also used cdrw, dvdr, dvdrw media and none of them reads on my xbox. I also tried burning Slayers 2.5 iso and it can't be read either. The xbox is a v1.1 with phillips dvd driver. Can anyone help

Why not install a PC DVD drive (I dont know if a CDROM or CDRW drive would work??)... Then it would read any CDR/CDRW/DVDR/DVDRW.

Just unplug the IDE cable from the XBOX DVD drive (Leave the yellow plugged in) then plug power and IDE cable into the PC drive and it should work fine.

Theres a guide in the tut's section too.
