Evox Not Allowing Ftp Into D: Drive?
« Reply #46 on: November 03, 2003, 06:55:00 PM »

Hello,

I was enable to make a boot cd and get Evox running.  When I FTP into the xbox booted to the Evox cd, I can see my D drive contents (which is the actual boot cd and dummy file).  It works fine here.  I then copied over the dash to the C drive and rebooted.  Evox comes up and everything works smoothly except I can no longer see the actual CD contents through the D drive.  I FTP into my xbox and when I go to the D drive I see an exact mirror/copy of the C drive (not the GAME/DVD contents).  Is there an evox setting that I messed up or has anyone else had this problem?  If this has already been covered could you please direct me to the thread because I couldn't find it.  All help is appreciated.  Thanks.

Well I guess it was the 4978.03 bios. I flashed my chip with 4997 and now everything works

Same problem here.  I've tried two different evox versions and I'm running 4976.02 and still have the problem.  I do not know how to fix it so I've just been using MXM to ftp.

Oh yeah, I have MXM as my default dash with x-select and have Evox as secondary.  FTP with MXM is fine...evox is sketchy.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

The only way I got it to work was to boot with a Slayers boot disc and then eject the slayer disc then put my game disc in hit refresh on FlashFXP.  It finally showed me the contents of the dvdrom drive.  I also tried upgrading my evox but, that didn't help.  I hope a better solution shows up.  It is kind of a pain in the a$$ to do it this way.  I was just checking out the EvolutionX forums and they say it is a bug in the newer dashes and the bug doesn't exist in the 4977 version.  I will try it out when I get a chance.

This is totally off-topic, and its prolly cause you dont have an F drive, and if you do, you didnt format it  ph34r.gif

I too just started having this problem with a little difference.  When I FTP in with FlashFXP my D: drive is showing the content of my F: drive.   I was not having any problems till I started changing things around.

Here is what I had:
M$ Dash and EvoX 3921 on C:
Saves on E:
Apps, Games and Emus on F:
Running with X2 4977 bios as well as X2 4979.06 on Chameleon
THIS WAS WORKING FINE

I wanted to make my system more Live secure so I decided to clean up C: and only have original M$ Dash on C and only Game Saves on E:  No screen shots or any of the other stuff that ends up on E:

I then moved Evox to F: and made all settings for it point to F:  I also added the latest Avalaunch to F: as well as using Xselect.
Using X2 4979.06 with boot sequence of F:xselect F:evoxdash F:avadash.
After setting this all up I noticed I could no longer see content of D: It was showing a mirror of F:

I have removed xselect as the first boot item and it has solved the problem.    If I put xselect back in the problem returns.  I have even tried going back to X2 4977 and the problem still exists as long as I have xselect in use.

SOLUTION

DO NOT USE XSELECT

It seems that xselect is some how interfering with evox's partition mapping.

This has been a very informative thread. I now have a few things I could try when I get home. I am unable to see the contents of D. I also have a problem seeing the contents of my F:/Games folder. I will eximine my evox.ini to see if my F:/Games problem lies there... any ideas?
