Good evening,

Booted up of CD-RW of latest EvoxDummy.iso off mirc (haven't got version to hand)

FTP from PC to xbox fine.

put & get & cd comands work fine.

I cannot use the "mkdir" command, says something like "xbmd not implemented"

Doing a search cant see anyone with this problem so I figure I'm doing something pretty fundamenatlly wrong......Everyone happily refers to making directories.Is it beacuse I'm booted off the CD?

Using flashfxp? Evo-ftpd was designed with flashfxp as the client of choice.

Cheers. FlashFXP creates dirs fine.

I was using the native NT4 ftp client.

There was I thinking any FTP client counld tallk to any FTP server. I must be simple in my brain.

well most clients can talk to most servers. but i'd call the evox server rudimentary and beta at best. It gets the job done so no one can complain but mxm will probably have a better implementation to work with more clients.

Im running Mac OS X and I run virtual PC just to ftp into my xbox, it seems counter productive but it works. *shrug*

i think that if it use to work on the previous version than the new version should work better.. i hope that the FTP fixes will allow all clients to list the directories, and not just 1 app on 1 operating system

What part of "The ftp problems are known, and they are being looked into" did you miss? Yes, its very clear that an ftpd that works with 1 app (as you say) is not ideal, hence, it being worked on.

hi i am tryin to install the new evox build 39582 or whatever it is!! but i cant ftp! i am using flash fxp it says that it is connected but before i can download the information needed it says connection failed, either connection time out or just connection failed! what is wrong how can i fix it?

I've been uding EvoX 3752 with no problems, but I wanted to try the new features in 3921...

Using 3921 I can FTP to the Box, but I can't transfer anything, WS_FTP is giving me '502 pasv is not implemented' error and fails to transfer.

I have a chameleon mod chip with Xecuter 2 4977 f boot red led bios.

Any ideas?

ws_ftp does not work with 3921. Use flash fxp. You can get it to work if you send it multiple times, eventually you will get a transfer complete. But do this at your own risk. If you want to continue using ws_ftp you will need to revert to 3752. Do this by booting evox 3752 on a cd...DO NOT boot 3921 and try to ftp them! You are likely to mess up your box.

Yeah or insted of doing that and wasting time he could just look in the settings of ws_ftp and turn off passive transfer mode for that connection and it'll work just fine.

Can I use a different ftp client?

I tries ws-ftp with 'Passive Transfer' turned off, and it seems to work some times, (not reliably)

Transmit 2.6 no longer works with the latest build of EvoX... making no current FTP clients in OS X work.

G5s can't run Virtual PC... so...

Team EvoX, PLEASE repair the FTP server so at least Transmit works... if not Mac users are screwed.

Also fixing the Debug BIOS FTP problem would also be nice...

Sometimes i use the internet explorer to ftp to my box!! its pretty cool!!

Yeah, I was doing that on my XP box... strangely it doesn't work w/ the FTP client for MSIE for OS X... go figure :-p
