Dash Showing Incorrect Bios
« on: September 09, 2003, 12:29:00 PM »

*sigh*Please try not to start multiple threads with the same problem.  Easy way to find out what you have...
System Utils -> Settings -> what does it say for KERNEL:

Also, transfer evox.ini FROM the xbox TO the PC,  (dont just open the one that is already on your pc) and look for the current = line.  Paste that hash here.

Then you are already running 4977.

With all the dash IGR set to off, the IGR in the bios works fine, so that one is done.  I only have two pending issues and I can close this chapter.

Why does my dash show 4977 256k when my mod is a 1mb bios, and I only have one bios loaded.

What should the dip switches be set to for normal operation?  Still looking for a doc to explain all that sh_t.

Thanks,

S

see the ROM = line in evox.ini?

Find the one that says "x2 4977 256k", and change it to whatever you want.  And you dont a 1mb bios.  4977 is a 256k bios.  You put the same 256k bios on your chip 4 times.  One in each bank.

Thanks everyone!  I will edit the INI file to show what I want.  I just wanted to make sure that everything was ok.  I will also keep dip switch 4 off for now.  If I do find the doc on the switches, I will post it here.

Thanks again!

I looked at the picture and saw it was for the x2 2.0, and the picture dip switch settings are not correct in that picture for my mod.  My bad was, I didn't see the x2 2.1 and 2.2 text at the bottom.  That is the very info I was looking for, thanks!  And you are right, I should have found that first, sorry.
