WodMan, please steer clear of this. I know you never said that you will steal my name, just wanted to make sure that if you partner up with msn25, you make sure to knock some sense into him. Good luck with your project.

First off .. WHOA you sound mad.  I guess I missed the part where MSN is stealing your name, that is not cool.

I already have a REM'd out section of my ini giving you credit for starting all of this.

I like to do things my own way, and since you seemed like you didn't get much in the way of gratitude or support from the peoples doing this and did not want to continue I started my own project.  I probably would have never started if you had a 2.2 in the works, I could have just modified it to suit my needs, but that is neither here nor there.

It actually started out as a way for me to setup new machines easily, I even have my personal disk setup to install the games right off of my server, which I think is kinda neat.  After playing with it and getting it the way that I like it, i figured it might help other people.

Rest assured, I learned a lot from your installer, but this is a ground-up project, and a solo one.  I am not sure why MSN thought we would collaborate on this, I suppose he would have taken my ideas as well.

Good day and thanks for starting with this, I am sure that if you didn't start it, none of us would be trying to do this.

Yeah, sorry for the Godzilla font, but I was in the middle of a project writing code, when I got an email from a buddy telling me to check this out.

Since in the past someone has blatantly taken everything I have done, changed the background and called it theirs, I was a little (to say the least) annoyed seeing a name I worked hard at, being "released" by someone else.

Anyway, MSN25 has PM'd me and he was very cool about it and I think we're ok now.  He meant to say it will be based on SlaYer's, not that it will be called SlaYer's. All cool with me in that case.

I am actually intrigued by the functionality you mention in your tool and if I had a minute to spare I would be happy to test it out for you.  Maybe I get to try out V2 laugh.gif

Oh, and to anyone wondering, I did not abandon the Slayer project, I have been "secretly" improving the installer with the latest gizmo's and giving it "F" mod functionality, but for now it's an "in-house" item since I do not have the time to test.
BTW, since I saw confusion on this, SlaYer is my name, I registered here as 1wolf1 only as a test, but the system will not allow me to change my login name :-)

==================================================
WodMan, once you finish your testing, if your tool is popular I would be willing to try to let you support and distribute it from my IRC channel like SlaYer's is.  You would only need to promise and try as had as possible to support it, at least untill it takes off.  Sound interesting? PM me if so.
==================================================

And to all you noobs saying " hey saw this, looks cool, let me test it", please be patient.  You'll break your box and come back here crying.  Let the man finish it, be confortable with it and THEN you can have it.  Jesus.

jester.gif   I think that this makes everyone here as happy as me!

I would be honored  biggrin.gif , and I would love to test yours  wink.gif .

I will let you know when it is ready for you.

P.S. - If I knew your 2.2 was being worked on I probably would have never bothered, but since I have already invested the time, I might as well follow through.

Will your new version support MXM or Avalaunch?

A little anxious considering you don't even have a mod.

My first beta is just about ready (it is very basic, the mare advanced features are still in the works), it will install Avalaunch, MXM, or EvoX.

I am going to give it to Slayer first for his stamp of approval before I start handing it out to a few people.

Alright people, I have a very early beta up on my ftp, if you want the info PM me.

NEWBIES READ - THIS IS A BETA AND IS GOING THROUGH THE TESTING STAGES STICK TO SLAYERS FOR NOW UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.  DON'T COMPLAIN THAT YOUR XBOX IS SCREWED UP AFTER YOU USE THIS

If you agree that you will not hold me responsible I will give a few people access and when I get their feedback I will give access to anyone who PM's me and hopefully it will be up on Slayers IRC channel.

Don't look for fancy features on this version, but if you want an easy way to do a basic install of MXM, Avalaunch, or Evox, this is it.

This first version is only for NEW, LARGE hard drives.  It DOES FORMAT ALL DRIVES.

An upgrade will be out soon, as well as a retail version.

Some of the games that are on it (from xbins) do not work, let me know which ones and I will take them off the next version.

P.S. - If you have 3 posts don't bother PM'ing me for access.

Alright peoples, it is out there ... let's get some feedback/issue reports.

For those of you who have it already, there is a new release 0.2a which supports upgrading your hard drive (not formatting e: and f:) as well as a full format option.  For those of you who are competent, have read my previous posts here and would like to risk all of your hard work on your XBOX to give a new installer a beta shot, PM me and I will give you access to my FTP.

First impressions are good (v0.2), the program installed all three dashboards ok, the games that i have tried all seemed to work fine.
The only two problems i noticed seemed to be menu related:

Play games from HDD submenu double listed in evox (the games in one and apps in the other)
Missing emulator and system submenu's from MXM

Now there is an updated version i'll give that a try and compare.

Can't wait for the full version

Yeah, this version does upgrades that will leave your e: and f: drives intact and I have refined the menu's again.

Give it a whirl and let me know what you think.

Just finished messing with 0.2a, here are my initial observations:

Format's all drives with no problems,
Bios Flashing with no problems,
All three dashboards install with no problems
Same menu errors i reported last time for 0.2 (evox & mxm),
XBMP only showing settings submenu when launched from evox (didn't try other dashes)
XBMP won't launch from main menu only from apps menu (avalaunch),

looking forward to 0.2b

0.2b is up, I will have some quality time tomorrow to work on this.
