QUOTE (msn25 @ Aug 10 2003, 10:19 PM)
well it appears we have some sort of a one track mind...

http://forums.xbox-s...=0

lol...technically i beat ya to it...but nonetheless...collaboration of some sort?

MSN25, WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?

I do not recall giving ANYONE permission to use my name or my installer's name to simply hack something I have worked very hard to make a solid and dependable "household name"   mad.gif

It really ticks me that even though I asked if anyone wanted to pick up the slack, become a member of my team and help with development, no one has even bothered to email me, yet all of the sudden I am finding out of an imminent release of MY installer?!?

Go nuts editing it out, improve on it, even use some of my scripts, but DO NOT call it "SLAYER'S EVOX AUTO-INSTALLER"  muhaha.gif

As someone said already, people expect a level of quality, testing and foremost support, even from a free product.  I do not want anyone associating a hack of MY tool, with the real mcoy, regardless of what you add to it!  Call it whatever you want, except SlaYer's EvoX Auto Installer, and build your reputation on your own, not on mine!

Yeah, and where did you come from? I do not recall you even asking to work with me on this, and that is the only only kind of product I will back and approve!

"Using features from", "based on...", "designed from..", etc.. are all OK.

Do not be a thief, PM me immediately with confirmation that you will cease and deceist using my product name, or anyone else's, without express permission!

WodMan, please steer clear of this.  I know you never said that you will steal my name, just wanted to make sure that if you partner up with msn25, you make sure to knock some sense into him. Good luck with your project.

Also, chilin_dude is currently developing an autoinstaller that will install evox, nexgen, mxm, avalaunch, and all existing games, apps, and emulators.  Look forward to that as well.

First off .. WHOA you sound mad.  I guess I missed the part where MSN is stealing your name, that is not cool.

I already have a REM'd out section of my ini giving you credit for starting all of this.

I like to do things my own way, and since you seemed like you didn't get much in the way of gratitude or support from the peoples doing this and did not want to continue I started my own project.  I probably would have never started if you had a 2.2 in the works, I could have just modified it to suit my needs, but that is neither here nor there.

It actually started out as a way for me to setup new machines easily, I even have my personal disk setup to install the games right off of my server, which I think is kinda neat.  After playing with it and getting it the way that I like it, i figured it might help other people.

Rest assured, I learned a lot from your installer, but this is a ground-up project, and a solo one.  I am not sure why MSN thought we would collaborate on this, I suppose he would have taken my ideas as well.

Good day and thanks for starting with this, I am sure that if you didn't start it, none of us would be trying to do this.

Personally I am almost done with my first version, it is going through the T&T stages now (tweaking and testing), so it would be pointless for me to collaborate.  I will have it up on a private ftp soon for a few experienced users to test.  I don't want any NooB's saying that I broke their box.  After that I will open up my private ftp to the public and people can do with it what they may.  For me it is more of a personal project.  I want to do it for me, and if it can help others and they like it great.  If they don't like it, not so great, but then again they dont have to use it.

I didn't want to start a war from this post, I just wanted some end-user input and so far I think I got one response, so I think that the developers of the auto-installers are really the only ones who care about any of this crap, go figure.

Well if yours does all the stuff mine does then i don't see in a reason for two releases... Mine is finished however i am waiting for a extra feature until i will release it (Hint it wont use Evo-X to install  biggrin.gif )
So i'd be willing to try it out.

OK guys easy, give me a few days.  It works right now, I just added Avalaunch support.  The closer I get to sending you guys the first release, the more work I make for myself.  You will have it by the weekend the latest.

I have not edited any bios' yet.  I don't like to mess with bios'.  I like to give em to you the way I get them fresh from Team Xecuter.

If Live make this necessary obviously I will have to do it then ... we'll know in a few weeks.
