Try disconnecting any network cable present on the XBOX.  I had the same problem; apparently EvoX freezes when it can't get TCP/IP information.

Yeah, if you evox is set to use a static IP, switch it back over to DHCP vice versa to see if that helps.

cool.gif is automatically running for you if you set up an "out of the box" home networking kit.

Short answer: If you did not personally give <hardware type> an IP address, and it currently has an IP address... it's talking to a DHCP server somewhere along the lines (even if the ip address doesn't change).  It can get complicated and take different views depending on the side of the network you're standing on.  Too much info to fit here, I suggest you go pop it into google or whatis.com or howstuffworks.com and read up on it if you're interested.

Bump.  Wondering if there's a way to fix this.

I can boot up using font exploits fine, and run Pheonix Bios Loader from Evox, but I have to unplug the network cable before doing so.  If anyone finds a way to prevent the dashboard from freezing without having to unplug the cable, I'd be interested.

here's my problem.  xbmp would freeze on dhcp.  evox was fine with dhcp.  i switched over to static so i could fix xbmp.  now xbmp plays fine, evox freezes.

is it possible to have a mix?  ie. evox dhcp and xbmp static?  i heard this will cause even more problems though...

So, has any of you guys encountered a fix for this evox freezing problem?

I'm facing the same issue for the first time (after modding 3 other xboxes with no problem.) The problem has occured with the Xbox Xmas bundle (star wars+tetris.)

thanks for any help or tips you might have.
