I had the same problem, I looked at the evov.ini file and there was my problem,
it had:

AutoLaunchGames   = No
AutoLaunchDVD   = No
DVDPlayer   = "c:msxboxdash.xbe"
AutoLaunchAudio   = No
#AudioPlayer   = "c:msxboxdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard   = "c:msxboxdash.xbe"
UseFDrive   = Yes
SkinName   = Magic
IGR      = No

so I had to change it to:

AutoLaunchGames   = No
AutoLaunchDVD   = No
DVDPlayer   = "c:xboxdash.xbe"
AutoLaunchAudio   = No
#AudioPlayer   = "c:xboxdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard   = "c:xboxdash.xbe"
UseFDrive   = Yes
SkinName   = Magic
IGR      = No

so just make sure the dashboard name is correct

I ahve tried renaming my msxboxdash.xbe to xboxdash.xbe and changing all instances in the evox.ini file and I still get error 21 when trying to load the ms dashboard.  This is what I have on my c dir, I installed evox with the slayer autoinstall:

evox.ini
evoxdash.xbe
xboxdash.xbe
yxboxdash.xbe
Skins dir

Anything else I can try to get the ms dash working?

Thanks

I'd suggest restoring the orginal dash from a backup or find a copy you know works so then at least you can eliminate one variable of the problem then go from there... ?

I lost my backup when I had to format my pc after it crashed.  Can any backup be used or just one that was on this xbox?

Thanks

Here is my .ini.

I still can't get the original MS DASH to load.  I noticed that I renamed it to xboxdash_old.xbe when I did the installation.  How can I fix this.  Please help.
