got some info for you to add....i think

[Clock]

JumpToMsDash    = No

Information Pending (does evox get the time from the msdash instead of a timeserver)

JumpIfNoLink    = Yes

Information Pending (does it automatically go if no cable is plugged in, since it cant use the timeserver)

Use24        = Yes

If set to Yes, the 24 hour time format is used.  When set to No, it uses the 12 hour time format.

SwapDate    = No

Information Pending (does it switch the month and day in the date display, in the european style, ex 13/8)

EDIT i was wondering if there is a way to eject the dvd-rom from the evox menu)

Just a little something to add......

In the [MENU] section there is also a....

Line "Some Text Here", #

This creates a line in the menu, that you cannot select, and a color of your choice

Line "Some Text Here" = default text color color for that skin
Line "Some Text Here",1 = Red
Line "Some Text Here",2 = Green
I tried 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 10 11, but all showed up as the skins standard text color

Okay, thanks everyone.  I'll be updating this guide soon, and contacting those who have mirrored it.  I'm still working to get the guide 100% complete however, before I release a new version.  I'm looking into user-defined actions, so expect that to be added soon.

I forgot to mention that I made backup copy of evox.ini file, which I copied back to Xbox c:, but evox still had menu problems.

Then I took steps as in your guide to repair the ini file, but there wasn't anything to repair.

Here's the ini file:[Misc]

Thanks for the tutorial.. quick question.. why do some people have something like

Item "MS Dashboard",ID_MS_Dash

While others have something like :

Item "MS Dashboard",@3

What does the @3 do?  Mine is setup like the second one.

Also.. I have a file called "items.txt" in my evox root directory.  is that suppose to be linked the the evox.ini file somehow?

ylsf: the @ commands were just the old way of doing it.  They do still work in the newest release (1.8.3752)

ID_Flash_Bios or @1 = Flash the BIOS
ID_MS_Dash or @3 = Launch the Original Dashboard
ID_Quick_Reboot or @5 = Reboot Xbox
ID_Settings or @9 = Go to the EvoX Dashboard Settings
ID_Power_Off or @10 = Turn the Power Off
ID_Backup or @11 = Backup the settings to C:Backup on the Xbox
ID_Skins or @13 = Skins
ID_Launch_DVD or @14 = Launch disc in dvdrom tray
@2 = Custom User Actions as in @210 to do action 10

And as for halfdane40, and anyone else with problems with evox, its best to start a new thread, and fill up this one with everyones personal problems. wink.gif

I have eject and load from XBE's found on #xbins in the utilities section. I guess there is no way to eject with evox so these were made?

Are there deeper commands you can use other than copy and format? What about rename, delete etc? Anyone know the syntax for other such commands?

The more I read about this stuff the more lost I seem to get.  I'm totally new to xbox modding and would like a little bit of help.
I have the x2.2 Lite plus mod chip, that I will be installing and I will be putting in a 120 gig harddrive.  However teh evox.ini stuff has me totally lost.  I've read the tutorials, but they seem to have me looking at 3 other pages at the same time, its just confusing.

I really want to be able to backup games on the harddrive, and to be able to play them without the discs.  Can anyone tell me what should be in the .ini file to serve that purpose, assuming I use the current newest version out? Or are the default settings enough to backup my old stuff and install the new harddrive?

can email me at [email protected]
thanks a ton.

Those can be put in action scripts, which vidgms4me is working on a guide for that.

I was suposed to be working on some of the new stuff for evox 3921, but got busy, so I'm just starting now.  tongue.gif

CODE
[Misc]
UseGDrive = Yes #enables G drive in ftp, able to add menu items that point to G, format G, etc
EnableSMART = Yes #enable S.M.A.R.T readings from hard drive
HDD_Temp_ID = 194 # Attribute number for temperature (should be 194 for most (if not all) drives
DebugTSR = No (More to come)
ChameleonLed = 15 #0=Off 1=On 2-100 Blink
GameRegion = 0 (More to come)

ALSO-
We all know about
CODE
Item "Reboot",ID_Quick_Reboot

A little known command is -
CODE
Item "Cold Reboot",ID_Full_Reboot

Also known as 'Power Cycle', the xbox will do a hard reboot, showing the animation and all.

I'll post some more in the next few days  wink.gif
