Evox Cd-rw Won't Work, Slayer 2.1 Doesn't Either

Just keep trying the evox cd-rw.

Eventually it should work...but it might take hours of trying.

Happens to em occasionally. Not sure if this is luck but it usually solves my prob smile.gif

First boot in normal ms dash or try to with the cd in. Then boot with the modchip on. SOmetimes you just have to keep on trying thats what i had to do.

I happen to believe 650MB CDRWs are the most compatible.  Memorex worked fantastic for me after getting no where with the same evox ISO image on Maxells.

That sounds like you need to reflash your mod chip, It means the xbox can't load the bios if it's doing that.

Try putting the Disc in the tray, then turn off your console (through the small Power Button), then turn it back on with the Disc still in the tray...

ok, so i tried out my old original xbox hard drive, and when i loaded it up the evox cd-rw is recognizable.  Of course this hdd already had evox on it but it still was able to recognize everything. and i also could play games on it.

does this mean anything?

can i somehow access the unaccessible hdd some other way?

Have you put a 500mb odd rar file on the cd-rw aswell???? Rename the xbe file to default.xbe????? Maybe some of the values in the ini file need changing??? All i know is that when i renamed my evoxdash.xbe file (dumb ass) and loaded the evolutionx disc (after changing all the shite) it loaded first time, and then i was able to ftp to it!!!!

yeah i have tried putting 500 mb or so of a rar file.  Also, the file has been default.xbe.  Could it need evoxdash.xbe on it instead of default.xbe?

i am using the 4977 bios.

FINALLY, i got it to pick up a cd.  The xbox finnally read the slayer 2.1 cd-rw.  I had to like boot up, and turn it off basically right away, and then start it again.  If i didn't do that, it wouldn't load the cd for some reason. Maybe it was just luck.

thank you to all who have tried to help out
