Sorry if this should go in newbie chat - seems like IP config is an EvoX issue, so I figured it would go here.
After waiting almost an eternity, I finally got my modchip in the mail. The bad news, however, is that they apparantly don't sell desoldering braids ANYWHERE in Japan, so I had to order one from Radio Snatch. So until that comes, I'm just checking up on some stuff.
I've read the basic "networking your PC and Xbox" tutorials and EvoX tutorials, and it seems to me that they all suggest that you set your PC-NIC to 192.168.0.1. I do know for a fact that I've got a static IP (5 actually). I've got 3 PCs, a Gamecube, and an Xbox. I could find out the PCs IPs easily enough, turn off the Xbox, ping the 4th of my 5 IPs to find the GC's IP, then the last one is the Xbox's. So, in short, what I'm asking is is it okay for to use the 5 static IPs I've got? I'm kinda lazy and would rather not change my IP everytime I need to connect to my box.
