Any network guruZ out there that can help me work with this XP "Bridge" thing and keep it compatible with internet connection sharing?

Now when I first installed the EvoX dashboard and tried connecting to my Xbox in flashfxp, I was able to when I looked and found the ip address on the Xbox was 192.168.0.200.  But then after a minute or two I lost connection on FlashFXP with my Xbox and never regained it I have tried setting the network cards manually every which way, and a couple of times I could connect to the Xbox, but then I lost the connection after a minute or two. Does anyone know how to set this craZy poor person's network up properly? *L*

Can you list the following for *ALL* 3 adapters regardless if the values are blank or not.

IP address
Subnet mask
Default gateway
DNS servers

I gave up on getting anythign to work with that damned "Bridge" thing.  I went back to the basics and gave all my nics ip addyZ, except the one connected to my dsl modem, that one is set to get ip automatically.  I gave the Xbox and computer good ips and good default gateways with the proper subnet, and i was able to connect to both my other computer and to the xbox through flashfxp.  But everytime I connected to flashfxp anbd tried to transfer a file the connection would work for a minute or two or less and then hang.  Then I would get connection failed when I would go back to try to connect to the xbox in flashfxp.  Then after a reboot of my computer and xbox it would work again.  Then after a while it just will not connect at all *L*

I just don't get it.  I can still connect to my wife's pc just fine.  I don't have any internet connection sharing going on yet, because I want to make sure to get the connections working first.  

I tried the boot disc just now and it I guess defaults to dchp, and listed 192.168.0.199 as my ip.  (I assign it as 192.168.0.5 normally).  And the nic are as follows:
Nic1=on server to DSL = auto assign ip
Nic2=on server to Wife's PC = manually assign, ip is 192.168.0.2, subnet is 255.255.255.0
Nic3=on server to Xbox = manually assign, ip is 192.168.0.3,  subnet is 255.255.255.0
On my wife's computer Nic is assigned ip of 192.168.0.4, gateway is 192.168.2, subnet is 255.255.255.0
On Xbox harddrive EvoX is set to Static ON, ip is 192.168.0.5, gateway is 192.168.0.3, subnet is 255.255.255.0

This is a pain in the ass *L*  If you could help in any way let me know, thanks very much for your time!

I can't believe I just read this whole thread...
But at least with your last post you figured it out yourself.  You're correct in thinking the bridge is not what you need here at all.
and your last post all ip's gateways etc you posted will work perfectly.

You can set up ICS to take nic 2 & 3 to go get out on internet nic 1.  that won't mess anything up.  
As far as your connection dying now.  Make sure pasv is off in flashfxp ... go to site manager and select in left pane your connection to the xbox and in right pane go to options tab.  8th check box down make sure is unchecked then try.
If still dies lets eliminate flashfxp isn't the problem so go to cmd prompt (start --> run then type 'cmd')
then type 'ping -t -l 1024 192.168.0.5'
and let that run for a while and see if your connection dies.

oh and just so you're aware...
in a post up higher you said your dhcp address from dsl nic was IP: 169.254.247.63
This basically means it didn't get a dhcp address so you shouldn't have been able to get to the internet at that time.
When you can get to the internet your dhcp address is probably quite different than above.

ok lets not use the bridge.  It isn't designed to be used in such a situation and will only confuse things...
Start off, disable the nic that goes to the xbox. right-click on it and disable.  Then get your internet connection working... like make sure you can access web pages.  Set up ICS again from the nic to your wifes computer out the working internet connection.  
Make sure all this is working (this is basically what you had before)
Turn on xbox and make sure it has a STATIC ip of 192.168.0.5 for example.
On your pc go to properites of the nic that is disabled and set ip to say 192.168.0.6
then enable it.
See if it works better than before.
If it dies... go to a cmd prompt.
type ipconfig /all
look for the 192.168.0.6 address and once found write down the physical address of that card.
now do route print and look for the interface list you see 0x1  0x3  etc.  for example if 0x3 matches the physical address you wrote down then IF=3.
then do
route -p add 192.168.0.5 MASK 255.255.255.255 192.168.0.6 METRIC 1 IF 3


this tells your computer that became confused which nic get out to the xbox exactly which one to use.  

if this doesn't work then...uhm.. you didn't follow what i said.  or at least you'll have more details at what step something went wrong.  But follow these steps exactly and make sure NOTHING is bridged.  right click on every connection to see if you can remove a bridge.

actually. if you don't want to do the stuff above first then at least do this... when everything is working (before the connection dies) go to the cmd prompt and do the route print and paste that in here.

then once it breaks do the route print again and paste that here and we'll see what your computer is changing on you.

Kind of off topic but has to do with moer then one nic. a firend of mine put 6 nic cards in his pc and bridged them all together just to see how fast he could make is interent. It worked pretty good, almost doubled his speed.
