16- Dashboard settings or other files to do with dashboard..

YOU need to ftp your box the best way to do it...
OK you may have deleted some dashboard files..Try an evox boot disc to see if you can load evox then ftp to it and check your files aren't missing or damaged...Transfer your backed up files across and see what happens..

Is the xbox bootable to msdash...??? Mod OFF
Since you unplugged the xbox you may need to reset the clock and date..
I read a post the other day with similar problem and it lead to this fault which seemed to fix the drama..
This may then let you boot the box and you may possibly have dasboard issues aswell ???
 See how ya go...

You must of deleted dash files then...
You need to get a boot disc of evox...JUST a boot disc not this auto install shit...
This boot disc must be burnt correctly in xbox iso format on media supported by your xbox dvd, and with your mod chip on, it should boot the evox dash which will then allow you to ftp and fix the problem..
SO you need to know how to FTP
A working boot disc and all will be fixed...

QUOTE (sounds4u2 @ May 14 2003, 07:58 AM)
I have a disk with  Evox1.8.3752 that I booted up on the xbox but it would only but up through the disk and not boot up without the disk in the xbox before I used the tutorial "setting up Evox without linking to a PC".
Now when I put that Evox disk in  it will not read it and go to the error 16 screen.

OK I think you mean that the disc you have works...Because you got evox to run from it before you attempted to install it to the HDD...
Now the dramas happened and it won't boot from dvd drive...
If this is the same disc you used for that tutorial, it must have more apps on it aswell, like boxplorer etc...for it to be an auto installer...Yes it probably does have evox on it but as a file in a folder not actually as an evox boot disc... Understand..
The evoxdash.xbe(default.xbe for evox) must be in the root directory of the boot disc..with no other files on it accept for the evox ini file, you can have the skins folders etc but not necessary..
Maybe this is your problem ????
Coz the boot disc should boot..

Look I'm not to sure but I think possibly you may have deleted your dash files and because you unplugged it you have lost the clock..The xbox then looks for the clock and date on reboot but it can't..so it shows an error..
You may need to do a HDD swap with another unlocked hdd to boot your box then swap your hdd over once evox is booted???
I have heard of this before whether I'm correct is yet to be determined ???

Let me see if I can find that post I saw yesterday I think that was a similar problem ???
NO sorry different topic.....
But I do remember reading it before ....???

I am getting a maxtor 80 gb hard drive in a couple of days.
Can I use this hard drive to do the swap or do I need another original xbox hard drive.

Well technically you should..
But you see you should be able to also boot up your xbox from the boot disc...So I don't think installing another drive will help you coz you will be in the same situation as having no dashboard...
I haven't gone that far into it, maybe someone who has can elaborate more..
But I'm assuming you'll need a working HDD from another box...
So you can set the time/date..
See most people don't hit that problem because they mod the box in less than the 3-5 hrs the xbox has of memory...
So I only see that option at the moment...???

Just noticed something else. When loading up everything seems fine (first 2 seconds) then I hear a noise like "brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr". Shortly afterward the light starts to flash green and red and it goes to the support screen, maybe error 11

HELP, I'm having the same problem.  I just upgraded my xbox drive to a Western Digital 120GB drive.  When i start it, it shows error 16 and it only displays half of the screen.  What should i do?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The only suggestion i have for you is to get the newest slayer iso. It will allow you to rebuild your existing hdd or install a new larger one and it will do all the work for you. you just have to select the action you wish it to take. I have my orignal drive in a box i modded my xbox while i had it open changed the drive then installed slayers evox and i was done never had to get anything from my old drive i have the 120 gig maxtor.
