I need to make an evox boot disc, so i can FTP the files off my new hdd. I allready have the dashboard evox on my comp. Can someone tell me or give me a link on how to make an evox boot disc w/ out a DVD burner. Im pretty sure it can be done. Thanks.

Download Evolution X
Download xISO V1.1.0

Make a new folder on your desktop and name it DASHBOARD
Make another new folder on your desktop and name it DASH-ISO

Extract your dashboard to DASHBOARD
You will now have, in the folder DASHBOARD, the files needed to make an ISO
Make sure the .xbe file is called default.xbe

How to make an xISO

Open xISO
Click Tools
Click Make a xISO
Now browse to the folder DASHBOARD click OK
Now browse to the folder DASH-ISO and type Boot Disk in the File Name window click SAVE
It will now make an xISO about 3 > 4 Mb in size

Now burn this image to a CDRW

How to burn using NERO

Insert a blank CD-RW
Open up Nero
Click File > Burn Image
Direct it to your newly made ISO
Click Finalize CD
Write Speed 2X
Write Method Disc-At-Once
Click Write
It will now burn your image to disk

When i made the xiso and burned it as an image. It didnt read it. But when i stuck it in my pc drive it said the d:/ drive was unaccesible meaning that nothin was burned to the disc. But, when i look on the disc i see the marks were it burns. Are you sure it can be done with a cd-rw?

Your computer won't read the xbox file format,  but don't worry, your xbox will.  Also, use SimpleX ISO, there are too many stories of xISO messing up ISOs.

If this still doesn't work, it's probably the xbox's drive, but most will read CD-RWs

I fixed it. You have to rename the .xbe to default.xbe
