 Hats off to your great work on this version 2.1.  I installed this on 2 different boxes  One was V1.0 w/ matrix and the other was a v1.3 w/2.2 xecuter pro. No problems at all with slayers product.  You helped make the job very easy. Thanks for all your work.

1wolf thank you for the great auto installer you made its been a great help...

myself and niteman1969 have just finished making an update with loads of new apps and so on and included a few bonuses like mameox and so on and i just wanted to thank you for your permisstion in this newsflash and once again for the great peice of software.

beerchug.gif  Glad you were inspired guys and it's good to see improvements.  Feel free to release your tool if you want, but please do not call it "SlaYer's..."  Use whatever other name you want and if you do not mind please give credit in the docs to whomever credit is due.  If you took my installer and just added features a "Built on SlaYer's...." or "Made from SlaYer's..." would be appropriate in the top of the docs to let people know.

Good luck guys!

SlaYer.

You're most welcome.

It's good to see that even after five months since it's release it's still working like a champ.

I put countless testing hours into it and aside from a handfull of apps that are newer versions, almost everything is still "new"

Anyone complaining should just replace the "older" versions of the tools with the latest and re-burn the ISO,  Presto, instand upgrade!

Enjoy!

SlaYer.

P.S.  Remember to read the docs before using it!

LOL, the "new" LIVE dash is nothing more then M$ attempt at patching the security holes in the current dash.  Why would I want to replace a perfectly working dash capable of being exploited with one that is locked up tight?

Anyone wanting to give up all the posibilities the "old" dash provides us with can just connect to M$ and they will be updated automatically.

Now that was really a silly request, wasn't it?

Regardless of what any of the haters are saying, this is the greatest learning tool for the directory structure and App placement for the Xbox. I couldn't have learned at the rate I did if I had to sift through all the posts on the forums for the simplest questions. Theory in practice was the teacher for me.
You guys rule for taking the time to share your knowledge with the new. This disc does make people think they can, I'm here to say now I can as a result. Thanks again to you and all involved in your endeavor.

Can someone please confirm wether there is a version of SlaYer's above 2.1 ? I am currently downloading what claims to be v2.3 and v2.4, both are around the 200Mb mark as an .iso file. Much appreciated...

No, 2.1 is the last one.

The original 2.1 is packed as RAR and 100 Mb
(Iso unpacked is 200 Mb)

Get it off irc (search adress at usual places)

LOL, don't think so. I'm not here to answer everyone's dreams and wishes, remember you're getting all this for free....

As I previousely stated, I might look into an updated version now that the new EvoX is out and supports >137GB, but no promisses.

Also, since the installer is already very large I will not be including emulators and the such, everyone should feel free to "improve" their own copy in whatever way they choose.  You can never have a version that pleases everyone.

I was really hoping EvoX would have a means to pasword /key protect menus to prevent things like noob banning... oh well... maybe in the next version.

Keep watching the newsflash on page 1 and happy Xboxing!

09/11/03 - NEWSFLASH:
I sincerely hope everyone is watching the memorial and wishes terrorism was fiction not reality. God Bless America!
I kinda wish my installer was a terrorism fighting tool  Anyway, I might consider releasing an updated version once the dust settles with >137GB HD's and possibly a newer dash. The M$ Dash hacks are still too young for noobs and lack the awessome auto update functionality of EvoX so I doubt I will include those unless they mature. No promises or timelines. If anyone wishes to help, and you are good at this, PM me!

I been trying for weeks to get Linux to run on box but it keeps frezzing everytime i try to boot it from evox, I heard that slayers auto installer 2.1 should do the trick, is this true because I have empty hard drive I can try this on before I do it on my current hard drive.

it should do,i have used GentooX on my xbox after installin the slayer installer v2.1 on my e: drive(like it sayz in the nfo's//readme's u need 3.5GB free on e: drive)and happy dayz,it starts to load up.It did stops a few times(must be loadin stuff)so i thought it crashed, went for a smoke and when i got back it was loaded with Gentoox,so if ya got it on e: drive then just load it frm the evox menu and happy dayz(my eject button turned orange and it took some time to load up,i was usin Gentoox.ShALLaX.v1.4_rc3.Home-Edition so maybe u just not givin it enough time to load) cool.gif
