Thank you for the installer.  Quick question tho, Using your great 2.1 installer iso how do I replace x2  4976.02 with  a noani colored 4796.02. In your iso i tried adding the colored on to the "bios" folder  but the installer  didnt not read it. I have a matrix. Thanks

You would have to edit the EvoX.ini in the root directory to reflect the file name your wanting to use since the installer will only use the file names it has set in the ini file. this was done for menu reasons not to limit user access. or replace the current files in the bios folder with the one you want but using the file name of the current file. either one will work.
as a 3rd option you can edit the evox.ini on the xbox HDD and add the flash option to the menu and then all bios in the Bios folder on the C: of the xbox will be displayed for your selection to which you wish to install.

have at it

I am glad you got it working and are Happy, Reading is a KEY part of the Xbox learning process. It is a must that you read any text file or NFO file that comes with the downloads you get. Not from just us but from anywhere. The Authors of the apps or programs list install instructionsnlist of known bugs or expected problems, or what the app or program is expected to do. and how to get it to do that.
This will also help you understand in time what is taking place and what is being changed or not changed, maybe added or removed. this is a step in learning how to make the changes you want with out the use of a tool like SlaYerS.

Hi all:

Love the CDs SLayer, used the 2.0 to install to my v1.0 XBox, np probs, upgraded to 2.1 from CD, no probs at all.  Some questions about it, but Ill ask in another post.

Ok, so I bought a refurbed XBox, brought it home, didnt hook it up and boot it or anything, popped in the X2Pro chip, flashed no prob, FRAG'ed no prob, went to go boot the Slayer Auto INstall CD, wont boot.  Take CD out, turn mod chip off, get stuck at the XBox X screen where the M$ Logo is supposed to pop up, but never does, just gets stuck there.  Should I have booted the XBox before I modded and used the CD? Now i cant get the XBox to boot at all.  Heres what I was thinking

Take my old retail HD (from my v1.0 already modded w/a new HD), put it inside the refurbed XBox, pop mod chip thats been flashed on there, and use the SLayer CD? ANy ideas? ANy one tried this Before? Help?

Ive posted here because when I have had any problems or stumped, this forum helps me more than any other.  THanks in advanced.

Tom

Because you did not boot the Xbox first you do not really know if it was a working Xbox. SO going on that and the fact it would not boot the installer CD, you then remove the chip and still it will not boot. Hmmmm. Does not sound good at this point.
If you want to use your old HDD from the one you upgraded the HDD in and transplant it into this one you will have to unlock it in the old box first, with it unlocked you can now boot the xbox with a mod chip because the drive is unlocked it will not boot retail-chip off or no mod chip.

you may try your DVD drive in the referb box as well to see if it will boot the installer, Also flash the chip with D6 this will boot sometime when xecuter bios wont.

Good Luck

YES and if you read the DOC's you would know this. Please read the DOC's before you go any further as you do not know what your doing. The DOC's were writen with n00bs like you in mind but if you dont bother to read them then it was a real waste of my time don't you think.

Glad you like it and it got you up and going. For you there should be no real need for a 2.2!
I would hope by the time a 2.2 version is released if there is one that is you would be well on your way to doing it all by your self.
Adding apps or updating as newer releases come out of the apps and EvoX used in the installer.

Well get your hands dirty and dig in you have a good start to many years of fun with the Xbox, And thanks for the nice comments

Just wanted to say "Thank you!" for a great tool!  I just installed my new 120 gig using your 2.1 installer and it was a breeze!!!!  Lot's of great included features, and a terrific walk-through instruction manual.  I added a couple lines to the ini to customize to taste, and now I have the perfect gaming rig!  THANKS! biggrin.gif

Thank you for your compliments, all are much appreciated.

If is good to see there are people out there that actually read the included instructions and it shows that they have virtually no problems.

Thanks for the moral support and please feel free to come baqck here to help the less literate. laugh.gif
