HERE YOU GO:

EvoX D.6 seems to allow EvoX to boot from CD-RW when the HD is new/blank where as X2 is a bit of a pain with that. However X2 4976.02 has assome media patching and IGR.

I recommend you install using the D.6 and once up and running go to X2 4976.02!

Yes, I did read the forums on the clock problem, unfortunately I only have my original drive so I can't get in to set the clock.  I have a backup of the original drive, however I didn't know to do a backup within evox and then copy those files as well, now I know.   sad.gif
Would be cool to have a post of the things you should and shouldn't do once you have your mod installed.  Would have saved a number of people.

YEah, but D.6 gets around this and DOES allow you to boot to the CD-RW or DVDR media even with the clock out of wack.  That is why I recomended it for installs!

First - that's awesome that you got that worked out!

Second - How did you use Evox D.6 when your Xbox wouldn't boot? I'm reallly curious about this because you're not the first to get in this situation.

I'm not sure if I have the right D.6 or how to burn the right files.  Got a copy EvoX D.6.bin of 256 Kbytes, but I assume this is a bios right?  Newbie still here...  Am I stuck since I have the x2 lite and can't get to the dashboard to flash it?
Still can't get the xbox to boot from the cd.  Tried my blank hard drive and same result.  I want to make sure I have the right image and how to burn it before blowing another $3 DVD-R disc.  unsure.gif
thanks

I ordered the X2 Pro chip today.
I installed it, flashed it using a parallel cable and did all 4 banks with the EvoX D.6 bios.
It booted!!! had trouble with CD-RW discs but the DVD-R disc I used booted the first time.
Woohoo!!  biggrin.gif
I fixed my dashboard file and now it boots!

My advice (correct me if I am wrong here):
Using the X2 Light - As soon as you install it, and before you try to replace your dashboard, flash it using D.6 bios or one that is newer than the one that comes pre-flashed.  That way if you screw up your boot files you can still boot from the cd.
Also choose the backup option right away and copy the backup directory  and all the other files to your system using ftp.
I recommend spending a few extra $$ for the X2 pro or one that has an external cable for flashing so that if the bios or boot files are hosed you can still recover.

Thanks for your help guys!
