Just wondering if anyone would know how long it would take to transfer the games from a full 120gig HD xbox to an empty 120 gig HD xbox using xboxftp?

A long time.  Depends on what your transfer speeds are.  Regardless it is going to take a long time.

Isn't there a better way to do it , if you have the means ?

If you had 2 xbox's then maybe you could fxp from one box to the other, then you would probably get around 4 or 6 Mbit / sec. (Using ATA 100 Cables in Both Boxes )

This would be a lot quicker than going from xbox > pc > xbox.

Just a thought.

I get 7.5-10MB/S on large files using FXP between two xboxes. But because of the large amount of tiny files it is more like 1MB/sec average.

You cant use the evo-x ftp-server. I use XBMP with FileZilla.

I wrote a guide on how to set it up:

You CAN use Norton Ghost 2003 to clone one HD to the other in DOS with a Norton Ghost boot disk. According to Norton Ghost the drives don't even have to be the same size i.e. 80gb to 120gb is possible.

I am about to try this tomorrow and will let you know.

Until now I have gone HD > PC > New HD - a full 120gb takes days.

Just to confirm guys, the standard IDE cable which comes with the XBox is ATA33 right? And there's no point in putting in an ATA100 cable right? I've got a Maxtor 120gb 7200rpm ATA133 in my box.

Thanks in advance.
