smile.gif ,   however, I'm still using the old dash board 1,8XXX.

It's the very first one, (the one with the blue screen and 4 options). cool.gif   I tried the most recent one but I couldn't make it to boot. I burned it as a data disk,  I tried the burning the evox as a whole folder, I tried burning it only with  ini file and xdashfile, and none of them worked..

Does this(recent evox) image has to be burned as an Iso with either gdfimage or isomaker?

I have tried several others, the previous one but even though I was able to make it boot, I couldn't FTP it with the xbox.

As for RED FACTION 2, I tried patching it with several patching  programs that are available here, burned backup as a data disk and patching the default file but it still does not boot.  Maybe, I'm missing something?

I (think) the game doesn't have to be patched as an image, right?
....well....If that's the case then, how will I patch the default.xbe file if it will be one  large iso file..... uhh.gif

ph34r.gif You won't need the patch if you are running x2 bios 4976.02  it has the media flag protection removed.  ph34r.gif

i dont have that bios, just the one that came with x2lite.

i dont want to flash my bios, cause i dont need to yet.

Okay guys, I have fixed the problem.  It does need a patch, if you have the universal aladin modchip.  Just patch the default.xbe on the main folder,

ex               C:RedFaction2 ----> here -----

and it will boot.

There are some patching programs that don't work, well at least it didn't work for me, I forget which one I used but If you want to know just reply back.

I am also having the problem with RF2. I have copied it over and when I try to run it I just hear a skipping sound.  I have the 4976.02 kernal and my mod chip is a X2-Pro.  I am running Evox 3285.  How was it that you fixed the problem?  Just let me know  Thx

I don't know how you got ahold of that.  I wrote that patch the day I found the media check, and really shouldn't be used with the releases of better tools like
L!M!T's and ADR's, both of which can remove the check in RF2.
