yes u need a x-over cable
use flashfxp
still thru ftp

this may be a stupid question but if i run the xover cabledoes my cable modem still have to be connected to connect the ftp? i only ask this cause i have only 1 network card and no hub.

Just connect your RJ45 crossover cable from your xbox directly to your PC's NIC.

Forget about the cable modem for now.

Make sure the TCP/IP properties for the LAN connection are set right.

You may need to reboot the xbox after everything is connected.

Wogboy if you have an XBox network cable (the official one they sell to link XBoxes for multi-player Halo and such), that is a crossover cable so you don't have to make or buy one.

i have the same prob too, i don't have a hub and i've the latest evox, i connected the utp (cat5) cable to my lan card and xbox directly, i used flashxp but i can't connect and even can't ping, i've also configured tcp/ip settings like the tutorial said. anyone knows a solution? tnx

symphony, did u change the default gateway on the xbox? mine didnt work until i changed the default gateway to the ip address of the pc. just a thought.

ok i got a crossover cable now and i followed everything on the tutorial but when i try to connect using flashxp, it'll try to connect but after a few seconds it'll say connection time out?

wogboy: yep i changed my pc's ip to 192.168.0.1 like the tutorial said, it's the same as my xbox's dedault getaway but still can't connect. any ideas why?

Yes...just turn it around and look.  Also dont forget to get a cross-over cable.  A router is the way to go as you can leave your IP service and Xbox connected at the same time.
