How exactly do I find the EVOX file on the XBOX HD? would it be in the C drive i presume? This is the contents of my XBOX C drive

ftp://192.168.0.5/C/Audio/
ftp://192.168.0.5/C/fonts/
ftp://192.168.0.5/C/xboxdashdata.10027100/
ftp://192.168.0.5/C/xodash/
ftp://192.168.0.5/C/items.txt
ftp://192.168.0.5/C/XBox Book.xtf
ftp://192.168.0.5/C/Xbox.xtf
ftp://192.168.0.5/C/xboxdash.xbe

My ftp works fine between pc & xbox. Could I just copy a new evox.ini to the C drive?

are you booting to a CDRW/DVD? If not then your Evox is installed to E:\ or F:\... what do you have in those two partitions?

Well then... I can only think of a few possibilities.

One is that your evox is installed to a non standard location. This can be good or bad... eitherway, browse all of the partitions and perhaps even folders until you find one with the evox.ini file...

If you search and do not find one anywhere then check the size of the xboxdash.xbe.

If you can not find the evox.ini and the partnering *boxdash.xbe with it and your C:\xboxdash.xbe is 1.x MB then you have a pretty interesting mod... where on earth did you get it?

If you can not find the evox.ini and the partnering *boxdash.xbe with it and your C:\xboxdash.xbe is 6xx KB then you should find whoever did your mod for you and smack them up side the head, because they have replaced the MS dashboard with the Evox dashboard without making a copy of the MS dashboard under a different name and they didnt put a evox.ini file out there...

eitherway post and let us know...

I think the original M$ dashboard is available on the xbins ftp.  (IRC channel #xbins, type "/msn xbins !list" without the quotes)

laugh.gif Hahahaha, sorry about that man... no offense intended by my comment... I really can't say much, I've done as bad or worse... anyway, yeah get a MS xboxdash.xbe 4920, (im kinda guessing at that but I think that is the one you need). Once you have the new MS xboxdash.xbe 4920, make a second copy of the same file named msxboxdash.xbe. Then rename your evox dashboard from xboxdash.xbe to evoxdash.xbe then copy all of those along with the evox.ini file (which you appear to be missing) to your C:\ so that you have the following files (in addition to the files currently on there....

C:\msxboxdash.xbe = copy of the original MS 4920 dash
C:\xboxdash.xbe = copy of the original MS 4920 dash
C:\evoxdash.xbe = copy of the latest evox dash
C:\evox.ini = copy of the evox configuration file
