Quick And Easy Evo Question

note: my pc ip was no where close to my xbox ip in either,(Genesys logic or Davicom dm9102/A PCI Fast Ether?)

That would be the problem then... do you have the hub connected to a dsl or cable modem? is there anything else connected to your hub, other than 1 pc and 1 xbox? The easiest thing to do would be to change is the xbox ip address to be similiar to your pcs ip. Just take the ip address from your computer say it was:

1.2.3.4

Then you would make you xbox
IP = 1.2.3.5
Gateway = 1.2.3.1

I tried doing that, but now my ip xbox went back to 0.0.0.0-.
You know the ip that you can't change on the screen above static ip.

I have a cable modem and a hub.
I tried using the hub at first, didn't work.
Now I'm just using a pc, crossover cable, xbox. (ever since I starting talking to you).

I still can't ping my xbox. I'm guessing its because my xbox's ip says 0.0.0.0-

are you talking about the menue.ini?
If so, it doesn't have that setting. I posted the whole file in the begining of my posts

ok I got it to ping.
I didn't know if you restart your computer that ip # changed in the winipcfg command.
I changed the ip and gateway on the xbox like you said. This is what I get when I ping it.

Pinging xxx.xxx.xxx.xx.xxx with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from x.x.x.x: bytes = 32 time<10ms TTL=128
Reply from x.x.x.x: bytes = 32 time=1ms TTL=128
Reply from x.x.x.x: bytes = 32 time<10ms TTL128
Reply from x.x.x.x: bytes = 32 time=1ms TTL=128

Pinging statistics for x.x.x.x:
Packets: sent = 4, received = 4, lost = 4 ( 0%loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
minimum = 0ms, maximum = 1 ms, average = 0ms

When I try smart ftp I get unkown error.
I tried a xbox program to transfer files and got a time out.

wait a minute, I pinged my computer and got that.
When I pinged my xbox I got the other one. Request timed out.

Does it matter when I look at my ip on my pc and the default gateway it blank.

I have values for:
adapter address
IP autoconfiguration address
Subnet Mask

I have no value for:
Default Gateway

These is for the Genesys logic. (IP Configuration Ethernet Adapter)
the davicom has values for everything. Only thing is when I swicth it to Davicom and press ok. I go back into it to look at it and it's back to Genesy logic.
