Having Trouble Connecting With Evo
« on: January 17, 2003, 08:52:00 AM »

Hi I'm having such alot of trouble connecting to my laptop with the xbox, I'm using a short direct lan cable and my laptop and the xbox both say they are conected and detect a link. However when trying to conect with flashfxp it trys for a few seconds and then say conection timed out, I spent hours last night trying to get it to work and got now where.

There is something that I thought about to day thought, in the tutorials it sait to make your comepute statick as well. I dont know how to do this but on the xbox it said that my laptop was statick and it also gave the ip address so I asume this is all inorder, the only thing I have not done is change my laptops IP.

But this is the thing that I found to day, while browsing the ini I found there was a user name or something simmilar. Does this meen that when conecting I need to type that name in exactly like what I have done with the IP address becase if so I have just been putting any name in.

I hope this is the case but please could someone let me know, thanks!

Your laptop address needs to be on the same IP subnet as your xbox.  Change your laptop IP to 192.168.0.4 or something similar.
Also when making a ftp connection, the username will always be "xbox"
