Reformat using RAW commands

Not been tried before but it might work, we are covering new ground here.

The new Dash worked for ME but obviously not many others. Try the RAW command and reformat the F drive (Not using the Dashboard but using an FTP client on a PC)

These are the RAW FlashFXP commands:

1. "Formatpath \Device\Harddisk0\Partition6" <---- F partition
You will receive a [key] reply from the Xbox that will appear in your FTP client
2. "Formatdrive [key]" (obviously you’d enter the actual key that you received, not [key])

having the same problem of yours....I have not figured it out.....been trying for months..

I have tried every setting that you can think of..........I think it is all about the HD in the xbox.....

with the orig. HD in the xbox I get speeds to and from comp. at about 7 Mbits per second

with my samsung 40 gig in the xbox I get about 5-7 mbits uploading to the comp, but only about 800 kbits downloading from comp. to xbox..........

I use a crossover cable.....flashfxp.....winxp......full or half duplex(i get same results)

I have tried so many things........the conclusion I come to is the Harddrive.......that is the only thing that gives me a big change in results.......

just a little of my expirence I wanted to share.....

BTW did you solve your problem?

Bump....

I posted about this in the other thread. I was getting horrible speeds uploading from PC to Xbox (around 400kbps). I've tried WS_FTP and FlashFXP with same results. I've tried setting my NIC settings to every combination possible (half/full duplex, 10/100 speed, and auto-detect). After replacing the original Seagate drive with a Western Digital WD1200BB (7200RPM 120gig) drive, I'm getting upload speeds of 3MB/sec (24mbps). It's better than before but it's still no where near saturating the network.

FYI, my PC is running Windows XP and my NIC card is a D-Link DFE-530TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter (10/100 auto-sensing). The PC and the xbox are both hooked up to a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless access point/router/4-port switch with standard CAT-5e cables (Note that communication between the PC and xbox is NOT going over the wireless so that is not the problem). I'm running the latest version of EvoX 1.8.3285 (i think). It's whatever one comes with the Slayer's Auto-Install ISO that was just released.

I've tried to narrow down the problem by running disk drive benchmarks on my PC to make sure my computer is reading from the hard drive fast enough. Sure enough, it's reading at around 24MB/sec from the C: drive (40gig Maxtor ATA/133). I'll probably do a packet dump of a transfer and see if I can find anything "wierd" there.

okay i was getting the same shit speed. but i know why now... because my best friend is a network genius he told me what i was doing wrong. first off make sure your computer is on a brodcast IP mine is 192.168.1.7   i set my computer on that IP then make sure your xbox is on a IP close to that number. once you have that done. make your computer have 2 ip's one for the net and one for the xbox. set your subnet on your PC to 255.255.255.128 so the brodcast is shorted and its not going all over the place and tada it would get your super fast speeds. i was getting 300kbs... now i am going 6MB up and i DL from the xbox at 25 down.

Mine xfrs at about a 1mb up and down. I think that's pretty much the average. But my MTU settings are messed because I have it set slower so I loose less packets because I was playing online games. I'll jack it back up and see what kind of speed I get.
