NEW! SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer V2.0!
« Reply #105 on: January 12, 2003, 01:07:00 PM »

Slayer, thanks for re-upping it, but I'm getting this error when I unrar it:

Invalid or corrupt authenticity information

I mean, it unrars, but it just gives that error message...I haven't burned it onto a DVD yet, but I wanted to make sure that it was not bugged before I wasted a DVDr.

What version of winrar did you use to rar it?  Did you use a version older than 3.0?

Thanks

QUOTE (1wolf1 @ Jan 12 2003, 04:44 PM)
Retail HD can only be unlocked in the original XBOX it came in and only if the EEPROM has not been touched.  Run ConfigMagic and unlock it.  If ConfigMagic fails to run, restore the original files from backup on that drive, install ConfigMagic just like any app, run it and unlock!

ConfigMagic won't boot with retail HD in XBOX, it gives Error 21.
When I use new 20 GB hard drive ConfigMagic boots ok - actually all things work fine.

I tried and disable chip (so XBOX is in "Virgin" state) but instead of booting normally it gives Error 5. I haven't touched EEprom, don't even know how to do that.

I'm now looking for solution how to unlock retail HD in PC without original password, because I have no clue how to do that in XBOX? Can I use hotswap in ConfigMagic? ... I run it from new HD and then swap it with retail one?

OK, do this:

1) use 20GB HD and load my installer.
2) select option (2) to save the EEPROM info to c:\backup on the 20GB HD
3) FTP into the XBOX and copy the entire c:\backup folder to your PC
4) Connect LOCKED Retail Xbox HD to your PC
5) Reboot PC (ignore any warnings about they HD)
6) In Windows, get a copy of and load up "LiveInfo" from Team-Assembly
7) Open up the eeprom.bin file from the copy of the c:\backup
8) If the password in the eeprom.bin file matches the one in the HD, you'll see the HD displayed at the bottom of LiveInfo.  Select "Unlock"
9) Done!
10) Drink a beer to my health!  beerchug.gif

Should be OK, just use a CD-RW!

Hi wolf
Remember I could'nt get any apps,ms dash and so on to work in v1.5.
You said it was because I had a v1.1 box ,well I've put v2 in and its no better.
Do you have any ideas ,if I select any app or ms dash it says loading and thats it.
I've upgraded from v1.5/I've restored retail and upgraded from that and I've deleated everything off the partitions and built from scratch all with no joy.
All the roots point to the right places just nothin.
Jupter

This was me for the past 2 weeks.
After talking to SS113 and fitting different chips only to come back to the first chip it worked.
I fitted a homebrew chip not knowing what bios it had on it and all was well ,it played copies and so on.
Then I discovered slayer's evox which I installed at once and got the above results.
I could'nt get anything to work so I thought it was the chip and with this I got a different one ,ploped it in and nothin would'nt even boot .
In the end I tried the first chip again which had been fitted straight to the board with the link ,but this time I used wires 1-9 with link and bob's yer uncle it worked .
So it just goes to show you that even though it play copies is your chip really fitted properly.

P.S its a homebrew evox 3.6ef bios with 1.1 eject fix
Can anyone tell me does it support hdd upgrade before I go and buy one.

unsure.gif

1)
When i put the auto installer v2.0 disk in and started the xbox.
The screen comes on and at the bottom it says MATRIX INSIDE.
Does this mean what i think (that the chip is a matrix, not x-ecuter2 lite)?

2)
When your auto installer starts this is on the screen.

EVOX v1.8.3285 ----------------------------------------SLAYER TOOLS v2.0
BIOS: EVOX D.6-----------------------------------------C: 415.563.776
KERNEL 1.06.4817.01----------------------------------E: 5.094.883.328
IP.0.0.0.0-------------------------------------------------F:0

Does this mean that the evox is already installed?
Looks like everything has been done. ( but I have been wrong before ) wink.gif

Sorry if these are daft questions. huh.gif
but i gotta ask em or i'll never know laugh.gif

thanks in advance

D: is your DVD drive and you cannot read it through FTP until EvoX and the Drive itself recognizes the media.

Oh, and I really wish you read the NFO file before making that earlier post about error 13!!!!  Why doesn't anyone bother to read?

Hi 1wolf1
I got your auto installer.

I’m completely new to this.
I had never seen a working xbox, before i got mine.
When i bought the xbox it was chipped.
The person i got it from said it had an x-ecuter2 lite in it. (This is what i wanted.)

I have a couple of questions. unsure.gif

When i put the auto installer v2.0 disk in and started the xbox.
The screen comes on and at the bottom it says MATRIX INSIDE.

Possibly, but I doubt it. It's usually just replacement text for the word "MS"

NO, it means you've booted from the installer.  Since it's based on EvoX it displays that info.

Your IP is 0.0.0.0 which means you're either not networked or the IP is incompatible with your network.  you MUST be able to FTP to the XBOX and back it up before doing anything further.  Read earlier posts in this thread and follow the tutorials.

You have a retail HD so if you want to be able to store games on the HD you must upgrade it.

Before you do anything, fix the IP problem, backup the EEPROM and BIOS with option (2) on the installer and then FTP the contents of both your C: and E: partitions to a safe place on your PC.  I already cover all this in the Instalation instructions for the installer.  Than follow the instructions there to install EvoX to the HD and all the apps.  Easy as pie.

Remember to read everything first!

your boot cd did not work for me uhh.gif
im getting really frustrated here, nothing i put in will boot, it will always give me error 16, the only diferent error it will give me is error 7 when i unplug the HDD
i even tried a blank 40 gig HDD and disabling the MODchip and it still give me error 16 when it should be giving me error 5 or 6.
i know the media is good i have used before.

i turn my xbox on, it show the animation, then show the xbox logo (with no MS or Xecuter2 logo underneath) spins the cd-rw and then error 16

grr.gif

Make sure you burned your iso image with the following options:

1. Disk at once.
2. Finalize
3. Burn at 2x or 4x.

I use Memorex 4x and 10x cd-rw's with zero problems. Last disk I burnt at 10x and it loads every time in my xbox.

Xbins folks refused to take v1.5 because of the 60MB size.  If you can convince them to take it I will upload v2.0!
