Lock Xbox

Hola hola!

I just had this surprising idea (I'm sure that I'm not the only one who had this idea) of "password protecting" the Xbox at the boot (bios or evox function, I dont know) something that we could manually set so that our dumb lil brother dont fuck around with the box while we're away and delete all the stuff on it ... it could be a serie of button press on the controller

anyone else think this is a good feature? yes? no? toaster?

great idea, there was a post on this already.

i think the best feature would be an option to turn off/on password while booting to EVOX dash.  That would stop meat heads from doing stuff that they shouldnt.

Optional password on each item in the launch menu. I.e - Flash BIOS and xcommander are two apps/options you don't want available around little kids.

why not just have different versions of your ini !?

I've seen so many people complain about having people fucking around or accidental flashing (idiots)

Just have a safe ini and a flash/anything else ini

You could always use a "key".  Boot Evox off of CD, when you leave, hide or take the boot CD with you!

hmmm thats a pretty cool idea... i think i'll try it out smile.gif

These are all great idea, but the user lock would be the best.
Imagine it had timers. O dear lord this would be the best.

I like the password idea. Even though I boot off of EvoX from a CD, I still think that idea is awesome, especially if I could password protecy only certain menu options, and set my password to what I want it to be.

EvoX would have to have an onscreen keyboard implemented, and that's about if from a coding perspective. The rest would be easy if you were only using clear-text passwords from the ini file. (e.g. the ftp password).

Another thing EvoX did not have, that I figured it would, is a file browser. I can't believe they got all the mapping down, reading and writing files, and didn't go to the next step... BoxPlorer is cool, but integrated file managing would be cool. (EvoX O.S.!)
