Yes, I know of this and it scared the hell out of me too.

I wish I could verify.
The WD1200 hard drive I have, brand new, will Not lock to save my life.
Lucky, I have 2 xbox's.
The another with a matrix chip and a maxtor HD that works fine for Live.

However, I did purchased 2 PC-BIOXX chips at the same time
and because, at the time, everything was all well with Lik-Sang I sold the chip and
installed it into a friends xbox for him.

We have been playing on Xbox Live ever since.

I dont know if we both have the same version or not becuase I did not pay attention at the time.
Ironically I get a chance to visit that friends in the next few days. (He lives very far away)

I will open it up, check out the version number and report back.

Bios Used Evox2.6
Not Banned after 3 months of constant use on Xbox Live.

He would not let me experiment with any other bios's. (wimp)
If it aint broken...
(even though it should not make a differance right?)

How can you tell if the Eject trick work?

my mate got a Xecuter2L install on xbox v1.0, went ever load up a game and pressed the Eject, it go back to the main xbox screen? it that what should happen?

Yep, if its a game the xbox will restart, in my experiance...

Apps like EvoX and XBMP should not restart.

It also depends on what bios you are using.
