What ModChip and more importantly What Bios are you using.

The MatriX Inside logo you see is located and can be changed with in the Bios image itself
with a small pc utility that is available.

For instance I have two xbox's one with a PC-Bioxx and one with a Matrix Chip.
They both have the X2_4973 bios image on them.
They Both say Executer2 when the Xbox's Boot.

If I wanted to I could change it to say, space is limited, anything I want.

ModChip's and Bios's are two differnt things

I cannot tell from the description but it sounds like a Matrix or socketed Homebrew chip.
It does sound like he simply upgraded the Bios for you.
Nice Colors a cool little Matrix Inside logo to drive you nuts. smile.gif

The CHIP and the BIOS are two different things.
Please understand that.

EvoX will "detect" the Bios for you if you have the correct CRC values entered in the EvoX.ini
for the particular bios you are using. Otherwise it will say "unknown"
This is under Settings and Xbox Info in the EvoX dash.

I went into depth here.
A bit of a newbie's guide to the basics.
Doesnt answer everything but I think it will help.

Sounds like your friend is just mistaken about an having "EvoX Modchip"
Alot of the time the differnce between the modchip and the bios is blurred.
Dont know why.. if you understand how a PC works then the xbox is easy.

And just to clarify, the "matrix inside" is part of the latest evo-x dashboard, and has NOTHING to do with the d6 bios... You can replace the "matrix inside" with anything you like using logox on the dashboard .xbe.

Oh, no Shit!
I never would have picked up on that using the x2_4973 Bios and Evox_3285 DashBoard.
LogoX is the program
Thanks WiKKid I could not remember the name and I have never used it.
I thought is was used to edit the bios to change that logo
I am totally wrong its the Dashboard.xbe that gets edited.

funny, tho how the X2 Bios "over rides" the Evox dash logo with "Executer2".
Well maybe not so funny.. cause that means the "Logo" can be Invoked from the bios as well?
WTF?
Maybe the 3285dash I downloaded was hacked before I got it...
Maybe Someone @ #xbins is foolin' around...

You dont buy a bios, although I am sure you could if you wanted.
You buy a CMOS chip (Homebrew) from a local electronics store
or a custom ModChip (PC-Bioxx) to put the BIOS binary image into.

BIOS images are free on the internet.

I know nothing about the Xios mod chip.
If its flashable without opening the Xbox thats Great.

If you want to change the Matrix Inside crap get Logox and edit the evoxdash yourself
or a version of the EvoX dash that does not have the logo...

how can i change this bios ok i download them then what bios r the one that contain the .bin right?
so ok i install them on the c:/bios/? do i have to remove the bios that r on that folder?
to change bios do i have to solder the mod or something plz help!
n one more? is this homebrew any good?

you can use evox of xflash to flash the chip without using a pc, but i would not recommend it., but there is a new guide that is released that lets u flash using evox and your xbox mb (http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/flashhomebrew.php) i suggest unsocketing your chip (providing it is on a socket right?) and place it in your pc.this guide should explain what to do: http://www.xbox-scen...homemademod.php. you dont have to remove any of the bios' that are inside the folder, but you may have to declare the binaries in the ini using the crc's (http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/bios-crc.php). and if you do have that socket, you shouldnt have to solder anything.
