Thanks 1wolf1,
what I asking is that if my install didn't went well, can I put my original HD back to get every thing back to normal??????

Of course.  Just make sure that you do not modify your BIOS or EEPROM.  All other modifications are made only to the files on the HD, so installing your old HD back will work just fine!

Help!

Is there a dashboard that let's me select 'play game' as opposed to having to turn the xbox off and then turn it on each time I want to play a game?  I can't find it amongst Slayer's installer.

laugh.gif man i must say that it some impressive work u have done there with the slayer installer,i installed an 80gig drive and all seemd to go well untill i clicked to goto the m$dash and got the service error screen,so just copied the original m$dash(alwayz got a backup) and happy dayz,all seems to be workin now with the dash etc.....

but 1 thing i did notice was that when using xbcopy it said the games was copied to e: but it dont show in the menu as a game on the hdd,so i used xboplorer to search e: and found it there,clicked on the xbe. file and the game loaded.....so i thought maybe it was ment to be on f: so i deleted the game and dumpt it to f and same result...didnt show as a game on the hdd in the menu but it however was on the drive......so i deleted the game again and used the hdd loaded and bingo...the games was now showin in the menu as a game on the drive.....so i was woundering y xbcopy doesnt show the games as playable frm the drive as in not showin in the menu section but yet the hdd loader does,is it just a matter of redoin the ini file to make xbcopy point to the drive or????

and i was woundering if u where goin to add emu's or other goodies in the v2 of the installer and if not is it easy to just add the correct folders,set it up in the ini file and happy dayz or not?????

thanks again to the LEGEND that made this disk.....cutto's to u and all ur hard work,outstandin just outstanding,lookin forward to the new release(upgrade with 80 was a buddys box,mine is v1.1 box so i waitin patiently for v2 installer)

Thank you but you "ain't seen nothing yet" laugh.gif

Version 2.0 is a massive improvement and will be out very very shortly...

Unfortunately I will not be adding emulator support as it will make the installer too big and harder to download.  As it stands it's over 61MB with MAX compression and over 175MB as an ISO

I was not game enough to install the apps and had been waiting for a tool like this. Great work bloke

A problem or two....

When I try to go into xbox menu settings through evo it goes to a flickering ntsc screen (this is a pal xbox) and the hd led is just flashing red/green.

Also is there any way to play dvd movies without the DVDX2 ? I already have a dvd remote, but with DVDX2 the remote is disabled.

This is the most stupid one, how do I just boot back to the original Xbox dash?

Now you can just chose the file you need the checksum for and paste the approperiate checksum into your .ini file.

Note that all the names listed above are they way they come directly out of the zip (and rar) files. You can change the name of the files to whatever you wish as the actual checksum is based on the content of the files and NOT the name of the file itself.

Slayer's Evox Auto-installer For Xbox
« Reply #177 on: January 09, 2003, 05:43:00 PM »

QUOTE (Reboot @ Jan 9 2003, 02:00 PM)
Can someone explain what it was that Netman posted (ROMs ??)
and how are these used.

ROM
These define different BIOS versions and their CRC (Cyclical Redundancy Check – for verification and the like [and that is as technical as I am getting on the subject]). The structure is as follows:

ROM = “”,””

example:

ROM = "EvoX 2.0",0x76fd88337b8d8c1f116f85f3984b98b6

Flash
Similar to the ROM parameter but this defines flash parts so these can be displayed as well. The structure is as follows:

Flash = (TBD),"",

example:

Flash = 0x01d5,"AMD - Am29F080B",0x100000

Current
Simply used to tell EvoX which version your BIOS is for display purposes.
BIOS and information about the ROM files available for flashing.

I can still run this if my drive has been hdpreped right?

YES
The tool will format the drive and create the directories it needs for the install, hdprepair will have no affect on it.
Just install the drive in the Xbox and run the tool.
If you are not in a big hurry to do this right away, V2.0 of the installer will be out shortly.
Features are more defined and strait forward. I personally recommend you wait for V2.0 of the installer.
