I tried several things.. The latest burn was like this:

-Bios (subdirectory w/files)
-Skin (subdirectory w/files)
-dashbackup.xbe
-default.xbe
-dummy.bin(about 650MB)
-EvolutionX beta 1.8.2812.nfo
-evox.ini
-evoxdash.xbe
-menu.ini
-xboxdash.xbe
-yboxdash.xbe

All the .xbe files are the same default.xbe, just renamed. That came as a suggestion from others. Didn't help.

QUOTE (cRaCKwHoRe @ Dec 16 2002, 04:08 AM)
This site is the best.. biggrin.gif  I've found a ton of helpful info here... However, I can't get any burned EvolutionX ISO to boot on my Xbox, whether it is DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-R, CD-RW. I tried using a separate DVD drive and that did not help. I've been trying a dummied ISO of version 1.8.2812 and a regular ISO of version 1.8.458. Neither will boot. I have the version 1.1 Xbox. I can tell by using the guide. However, by looking at my drive, it looks like I have the Thomson DVD drive. What a POS! I just installed the Matrix chip and flashed it with EvoX v 3.6. Everything looks like it should be good.. am I missing anything? Is there any possible way to load EvolutionX without booting the stupid CD? I tried the swaptrick and got access to my HDD under WinXP (with TOOGG's viewer) and overwrote the original xboxdash.xbe file with the EvolutionX one. But it won't let me get to the root of the C drive to copy the rest of the files so I get error code 13... Looking for help. Anyone want to help me? There has got to be something I'm missing... why won't my CD's boot?

Thanks in advance.

You must make sure you burn your CD-RW or DVDR using UDF 128 & 8+3

Stomp RecordNow Max does a great job for me, but there are others, finally you must make sure that the evox main file is named "default.xbe" and it's in the root.

Try grabbing my new installer ( see my earlier post here: http://forums.xbox-s...ST&f=16&t=18226 ) and burn the disk UDF.

Good luck!

I don't see this option anywhere in RecordNowMax. All I get for options on burning the image are Recording type and mode. Under recording type I get DAO closed or DAO not closed (Session at once). Under mode I get Mode1 (Blocking 2048) DVD... that's what I want right (Mode 1?).

Right now if I turn my Xbox on without any CD in the drive, it goes to the regular MS dashboard. I have the modchip full on, the LED is solid green. It flashed fine when I did it, didn't get any errors flashing OR verifying. If I put all these discs I've made (now coasters..) I get the stupid annoying screen that says it's not a valid Xbox disc.

i bet you changed the name of your dummy file to something before default.xbe (aaaaaa.bin or something like that) and it worked?
