I don't see how the new bios calls MS attention anymore then the x-ecuter 2 chip will. The guys at MS are far from morons, and no matter what, the next Xbox version would have been another step harder to crack.

Team X-ecutor comes off as whiny.

The IGR in the new evox, gave me the ability to do this without paying X-ecuter more money. Now anyone with an old mod, X-ecuter 1's included, can do the reset. They did this for free and love of improving the scene. Was team X-ecuter going to send me a free X-ectuter II chip to do this? If so I missed the announcement.

I hate to say it too. Evox catered to the newbies w/ that dual bios.

Who do you think Team X-ecutor catered to by releasing their one wire mod, or who they are catering to by copying (yes copying) the matrix pogo connection?

I think X-executer makes some great chips, but gimmie a break... I do believe they were the ones that were so excited about the new version 1.1 challenge. Now they cry because they might have even more of a challenge ahead. If their love was truly meeting the new challenges of the scene, they would shut up and enjoy the fact that there will be more to do. Simple fact is though... all they want is the cash, and they fear the next challenge will short change em.

Aside from this nice to see you improved the sloppy upload speed and fixed the skin bug (oh and thanks for the credit on the IGR function hmmmm)

Team Xecuter has never released their OWN dash, so how can they call the upload speeds sloppy... and why should EvoX give credit for IGR when theirs doesn't use the Xecuter's code and is built into the dash and not BIOS?

Then you don't understand the issue at all, do you?

The Xecutor2 team has not, and WAS not going to use the backdoor. The X2 Lite and Pros were going to use TWO DIFFERENT BIOSes, one for 1.0 and one for 1.1. Evo-X had BIOSes already for BOTH versions. All three groups shared the knowledge of the 'secret' backdoor method (in fact, the only people that NEEDED to know it, knew it)

The dual-BIOS uses a DIFFERENT TRICK to boot both from the same code. X2 and the Linux team agreed to keep it private so that M$ would not get wind of it, in the HOPES the loophole would not be closed. Evo-X's rash decision to top X2 with a splashy, but ultimately pointless dual-BIOS has ensured that M$ will figure out the OTHER, ALTERNATE backdoor method of cracking the Xbox.

That was a bad comment from x-ecuter. They haven't written a dash so they shouldn't bash it at all.  -- Wasn't the evox bios the first one too that supported the 120gig hdd??? Hmmm....  Although x-ecuter did credit them for that when they copied that support

I'm glad this new dashboard was released. The Xecuter2 Team seemed pretty cocky when they said their futer bios releases will not support the 256k Matrix. Besides, their IGR code still seems a little buggy if you ask me.
Oh well, no need to worry about that now.

Team Xecuter is dishing out allot of premeditated hatred in my opinion.

The Matrix chip is great, and hopefully the x2 will be too. who really cares wich is better?

The main issue is simple installation for all of us with no soldering skills what so ever.

Hat's off to The EvoX Team for another great release!!

I agree with a 100% badmonkey.

Also, this quote bugs me:

Well, the FTP server code WAS sloppy witht he speed. this board is LITTERED with people baffled by the seemingly random disparity in speed.

As for the IGR, we still don't know how it was implimented, but I have an idea. Likely it *WAS* copied form the X2, and is patched into the BIOS before loading a game. We'll never know, I guess, because the Evo-X team doesn't seem to want to share any of THEIR secrets.

The FTPing was a problem, and they fixed it. Lets insult them for doing that... WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!

Then you don't understand the issue at all, do you?

Maybe you didn't understand my post then. So what... You think that 3 different sets of hackers/coders could figure out this secret back door, and MS wouldn't?

No matter what, the next Xbox version will be harder to crack. It is the nature of the game.

Well, the FTP server code WAS sloppy witht he speed. this board is LITTERED with people baffled by the seemingly random disparity in speed.

The issue isn't whether there was or wasn't an FTP speed problem, clearly there was - the issue is why x-ecutor felt the need to be bastards by throwing out this random insult (calling it "sloppy" is clearly meant to be a disparaging remark, suggesting, perhaps, that evox can't code properly -- they could just as easily have said the same thing minus the bastardliness by saying something like "and congrats to evox for fixing that FTP speed problem!  Great job!").

How do you think x-ecutor would react if someone responded to one of their latest releases by saying "good thing they finally fixed the sloppy <INSERT IMPROVED FEATURE HERE>" -- they'd start whinning and belly-aching and messing their undershorts, that's what they'd do.

I've described my own fixes in a similar fashion... describing it as 'sloppy' is actually an accurate description of the issue, though. Perhaps the use of that term might be inflammatory, but that might even be a cultural bias on some people's part... do you know where the X2 member that wrote that hailed from?

Every post they've made was precisely correct, even if the tone may not have been perfectly happy. The guy (or gal) was clearly not happy about what Evo-X did with the business about exposing the backdoor; but it is purely YOUR interpretation of it to say the 'sloppy' adjective was intended to slur Evo-X.

My suspicion is that the Evo-X team found an unitialized variable that caused random behavior, hence the 'sloppy' behavior.

Let them release their dash as open source, and let us all be the judge of it.

3 sets of hackers who had shared a lot of information amongst themselves. M$ spent over a YEAR before finalizing the security measures, pounding on it with teams of experts - very smart people - and didn't figure out the loopholes Bunnie found in a few weeks of research.

You **ASSUME** M$ would have found the backdoor. It's always bad to assume, don't you know? Why would a magician expose his trick to the audience, just because they MAY have figured it out?

it is purely YOUR interpretation of it to say the 'sloppy' adjective was intended to slur Evo-X.

I don't think it an incredibly huge analytical leap to come to this conclusion (as I pointed out, it would have been very easy to come up with a comment about this that couldn't possibly be perceived as insulting) - and this conclusion is not based just on what was said in this particular statement but also on the fact that, like I pointed out in a previous post, x-ecutor has exhibited a consistent pattern of slurring its competition.

                                    That's rich!

Yeah, the Xodus/Matrix team was soooooooooo mature with that incredibly lame and misleading 'chart' they posted some time ago.

I can't tell you how much respect I lost for those guys that day.

The scene could do without the sniping, but what are you guys doing?? LOL! However they choose their words, they are still absolutely correct and not misleading.

Let Evo-X refute the IGR comments with an open source release. I haven't seen them exhibit a magnanimus attitude towards fellow developers with their dashboard code, yet the X2 team gets harped on for their 'secrecy'. Yeah, right.
