After a small installation snag (weird jumper settings), I got that Samsung 120GB 5400rpm running very smoothly. Silent and cool, like the reviewers say. Pretty average loading times, so don't expect a speed demon.

IBM is a good choice but i hear that the drives tend to heat up a bit. They are also a bit pricy.

Yeah, those 120GB Samsungs seem to be a good deal, and a friend is running one without any heat problems or noise issues.

Spend alot of time looking over which 120gb drives that are generating less heat and noise and also has the lowest rma rate. Came up with Samsung 5400 rpm. haven't gotten it yet though. Running on a IBM 180gxp 7200rpm temporarly. Damn this thing makes alot of heat.

Not the fastest drive around. But speed is not that important (beats the dvd drive by a long shot). Cool and silent usage is.
