Since you have "no link," you have a mising link in your connection.  Some things to check.

1) Proper installation of your NIC.  You should check in DEVICE MANAGER in windows to check if your NIC is working properly.
2) Check to see if all cables are connected.
3) Lastly, (this maybe sound dumb) make sure you are using a crossover cable and NOT a straight cable.

Gackt, are you using a crossover cable ? Make sure you are.

Then check your network config in your evox.ini file.
It should look like this:

[Network]
SetupNetwork   = Yes
StaticIP   = Yes
Ip      = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Subnetmask   = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway   = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
DNS1      = 0.0.0.0
DNS2      = 0.0.0.0

Replace the XXX at the IP line by your xbox IP address (ex. 192.168.0.5).
Replace the XXX at the DefaultGateway line by your PC IP address (ex. 192.168.0.1).

Also, check the back of your XBOX while your PC and XBOX are ON and the cable is connected to both, you should see a red light on the network connector, if there is no light you have a cable problem.
If you're not sure about your cable, and don't know how to make one, go to the hardware store and ask them a crossover cable (RJ45), its really cheap.

Good luck

I just checked and there is no red light turning on at all... you believe that means that it is a cable problem? Pretty strange, some days ago (before all the problem started), I was using the same cable... the only difference was how my network was set up... I had one of my network cards connected to the ADSL router, and the other card conneted to a hub... and the Xbox was connected to the hub... what should I do? Get a new cable? Or you believe this is other kind ofproblem?

Thank you in advance.

                                    Well, there you go.... the hub acted as the crossover. If you removed that, and used one of those cables between the PC and Xbox, it's not a crossover.

Personally, I prefer to use a router/hub in front of any broadband modem, then just hook everything up through that. Mine also handles DHCP.  Such a easier setup.

So, a crossover cable should make everything work?

                                    Between the PC and Xbox, yes.

Or as BenJeremy said, get a router... Its so easy to setup and protects you on broadband, they have builtin hardware firewalls (some of them).
Then whatever you need to connect on your network you just hook it up to the hub with or without a crossover cable...
