Seriously, rooicity, did ya even bother reading the post before you replied?  Just where would the battery go?  Definitely not in the programmer since that's not the subject at hand!

Here's a guide you might try looking at Flash LPC mod via EvolutionX (v0.3)

Guys, have a look at your evox.ini file and make sure you have this line UNcommented:

Flash      = 0xbf61,"SST - 49LF020",0x40000

Remove the "#" sign at the beggining of the line if there is one. Then reboot and retry.

I should have been more explicit .. but the tutorial does tell you to add that line andits not commented out either.
I will try tonight to override the all ini file with the one from the latest dashboard, will add my own settings again afterward to see if it make a difference (so far I only copied the bios section from the newest one and maybe missed out on something else).
What about the ROM section, do u need to enter something in there or does it create the entry automatically after each sucesful flash ?

I tried with those 2 bioses: X2_v1_noani_blue.bin & EvoX V2.6 - V1.0.bin (unmodified for the moment)

The ROM section is used only to display the bios version on the evox screen, its not related to flashing at all and NO the entry is not automatically entered after a successful flash, you need to edit it manually if you want the correct BIOS version to display...
Do you have a v1.0 XBOX ? I've seen some people with similar issues but they were using v1.1 XBOX...

Yeap 1.0 ..
Its the 1st problem I hit with the xbox so far, every other modifications went smoothly (networking, streaming server set up, changing HDD / fans etc)
Even aligning the Matrix went with no problem (and big thanx to easybuy who sent me the 2 chip over a week interval when I only ordered 1 !!)

Will have a better look tonight .. might be a space or maybe even  a controle chararacter I slipped into the ini

Yeah...  I'm in the same boat as Phocea.  1.0 XBox, Added the line that was in that tutorial...

They are 256k BIOSes...

If anyone has any more ideas...

What's it supposed to look like when it succeeds?  Does that message box still come up?

You using the latest Evox Dash?   1.8.2812?

Buddy of mind had version 1.8.2594 and followed the tutorial and got the same problems of not being able to flash.

I told him to upgrade to the latest and it worked flawlessly.

I also did it personally with 1.8.2812.

When I updated to the latest dashboard, I copied the default.xbe as EvoxDash.xbe ... erm ..forgetting that I was using the ybox bios previously lol.

I wonder if it's everyone else mistake here .. When you update your dashboard make sure you copy default.xbe TWICE .. once has your previous "dashboard.xbe" (either ybox or xbox) and  second time as Evoxdash.xbe so once you flashed it find your dashboard.

Installed the X2_v1_noani_blue.bin .. Worked first time around

Thanx for the help guys but there is no cure for stupidity wink.gif
