Not sure whats your problem but can confirm that its not related to the Matrix since I've used that feature several times on mine (in mode 4 btw).

Are you using the latest version of the EvoX dashboard ? (2812).
Also, make sure you get this line in your evox.ini file under Section "System Utils":Item "Backup",@11

Maybe its an evox.ini issue... Thats really weird though.

hi,

for me, the backing up fonction won't work too...on xbox it"s homemode modchip with 29f040 with bios 3.6 evox, XBOX v1.1, original HDD, evox.ini is pretty good...

what's wrong ??

oops...it was evolution v2594..i upgfrade to 2812...but it seem to hang too.....

hey guys,

no panic.
i found out thats a prob to read the bios of the new 1.1 xbox models.

we all have to wait for a new evolution-x software . . .  i think

anyone knows another way to log the hd-key to lock the replaced hd????????

I got exactly the same problem with Asian v1.1 xbox.
I am using evolutionx 2812. I tried evox 3.6 and x-ecuter 2 bios. Both of them hangs in backup function. evox2812 created the backup directory, and a bios.bin with zero length. It seems that it do have problem reading bios from v1.1 xbox.
I also noticed that there were some backup game not boot or will hang during the game such as Loons, Brecu Lee, Collin Mcrae Rally 3, NBA inside drive 2003, Lord of the Ring, etc...
I am afraid that we might need to wait for a new bios coming.

i hope theres comin out a new version of evolution-x soon.

im playin colin mcrae too, but i havent got any errors by loading/playin it from hd.
ive played medal of honor, unreal ch., colin mcrae, metal gear solid without probs??

what about if the hd was put in a v1 xbox to get the hd key then put back in a v1.1 to lock would that work?

no because hd key are unique to a box.
