LoL that would be assuming they were coppied games but they are originals. There has to be something else going on. I tried on my original xbox harddrive but it does the same thing so its not because the harddrive is unlocked. I would try booting it with the original bios however i replaced the harddrive and i havent locked it (dont have an floppy drive =) ). If i put in a scratched game that does load i get a dirty disk error like usual some games just dont want to boot up. So far it seems like MS games. thanks for the input if anyone else has any suggestions thanks in advance.

Im right there with you.. seems about 20% of my games when copied to hard drive to not run.. different errors, FF and Halo the biggest offenders though. Someimes I get dumped to the evox w/ no ini screen, or I will get the dirty disc error.. right now, Tiger Woods locks up all the time from hard drive, the music gets stuck in a loop and game freezes.. this is copied from the original disc. Anyone know why this happens?

What methods are u using to get the game to hhd?  sometimes ftp'n them gets screwy, using xbplorer is not a sure way butxbcopy has been a 100% way for me.... the only prob I had was w/ HOD3, when I tried to play HOD2 from hhd it just went black.  My theory is that it was looking for the cd.

i havent had any problems with playing games on the xbox hddrive. But a few games (original copy) dont like to boot from dvd. It drops back to the evolution x menue.

Some thing very weird is happening with your games as all those games above work fine on my hard drive,stuffed screen in tetris worlds,its a bug in the game,same as serious sam,just because we have a great console software companys do not check there crappy ports to well,as i have noticed that all problems with game coding since to be the ported one as all the xbox only games are flawless so i will stick to downloading xbox only game and stuff these cheap shit pc ports,serious sam was not a great game on the pc and i did not like the port of ghost recon either.

I would suggest you go ahead and lock the hdd and boot your originals through the stock dash.  I know its kind of a pain to do the locking but it should clear up your problem .  You can make a bootable cd with most burning software if you don't have a floppy drive. You may want to try a different bios as well if you have a flashable chip.
