Bad Bios Flash?
« on: November 12, 2002, 01:53:00 PM »

sad.gif  Im a beta tester and was playing fine on LIVE till Monday, bla bla bla you allready know something is messed up,anyway,my box had a Evox 2.5 Flashed bios(I did it  with  enigmah chip),so I wanted to flash back to the original MS bios (so I can play freaking LIVE) and then get another box just for backups/offline games.I did flash it to the old 3094 or whatever bios it was,but I didnt have a modchip install at the time of flash(thats probobly what I did wrong)I was using Evox to flash and everything was fine ,the box shutdown and on the next reboot never worked again.I dont get any error message just the multilanguage screen "you box needs repare dumass".I have a Matrix chip here, that works fine on my friends box, flashed it with every bios posible(even MS oroginal) can't boot HDD or any CD/RW/DVD,it just bumbs me to the dumass screen sad.gif

I got one question I guess:When you turn on the box what bios is booted first mobo bios or modchip bios?

btw I have an 120 gb HDD in with 50 sweet games that I can  not play now  LOL

Any help?!? sad.gif   Thanks

It should try to load the chip bios first... it depends on the mode your chip is on I guess... Matrix for example has 4 modes... always on, always off, eject trick and test mode... etc...

Why the hell would people flash their XBOX bios ?!?!

Are you SURE about that ?  I know about all the modes on the Matrix, but nothing works!

The chip bios overrides the XBOX one if its enabled to do so, this means it loads the chip bios if your chip is functional and enabled.

There is no bios loaded first and then another one... It loads one bios only.
If you use the eject trick with the matrix for example, it loads the XBOX bios when you press eject, otherwise on power up, it loads the chip bios.

Now, you should install the matrix with a colormod on it and make sure it is installed and flashed correctly.
When you power up your XBOX, it should come up with a red (or blue) XBOX logo before any errors are displayed on the screen. If you don't get this, its either that your chip is not installed correctly, its mode is still on test mode (both dip switches ON) or it hasn't been flashed correctly.

Once you get the red (or blue) logo, find a media that your XBOX will recgnize and boot EvoX. If you can't find a media that your xbox drive can read, try plugging in a PC DVD drive, that will work.

Note that we had to flash my friend's chip bios 3 times before it finally worked last time so it doesn't work the first time everytime.

Once you can get in EvoX, use this tutorial to restore your XBOX TSOP:

Sorry about your XBOX but you're the one who flashed its bios in the first place...

Thats all I needed to know. Thank you! I know  about the Matrix and its modes, the chip works fine on a box I just got ,but I can't get it to flash green when testing on my box.Maybe I just broke a track/point or whatever you call it.I see this option is out of the question, but do you think I can install my old Enigmah(s gonna take me a month) and flash the TSOP again?

Thanks again for the help!

smile.gif I was trying to align it for about 4 hours,on every mode posible, most of the time on test 1/on 2/on,no luck. The funny thing its that on the other box it takes me about 1,5 seconds to align it smile.gif
Yes,you can flash Bios with Enigmah+EvoX,thats how I did it in first place and it was working fine all that time, till I fucked it up.Ohh well,Im gonna have to solder my ass out again.
Thanks again.
